Girly Girl Crab & Company

Averie had a birthday party to go to and I need a quick card. I had the crab done, so I just colored in half the eyelids, added some white with my gel pen and then drew on some luscious lashes. Of course she needed a ribbon on her claw too! Oh, how I love this set Crab & Company!!! The cool caribbean is ran through my Cuttlebug with my new embossing folder. The ribbon is May Arts and from Starlitstudio. This card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.

A pinch, a pinch, a pinch to grow an inch. I just love my girly crab. I know it will probably end up in the trash at the party though. Is it rude to dig through the wrapping paper for your own card? SNORT!!! I guess I can make another one right?

Do you have a funny card story? I LOVE funny stories. Have you ever dug in the trash on a recovery mission? Come on... somebody tell me a funny card story!

I'm out of town today, but I'll be back this evening! Hope you all have a super day! I better come back to someone else admitting to digging through the trash.... or at least WANTING to. ;)

Stamps: Crab & Company

Ink: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Creamy Caramel, Cool Caribbean, Shimmery H20s.

I'M NOT A DIGGER, BUT A THROW-AWAYER. EVEN AS A STAMPER I KNOW YOU CAN'T KEEP EVERYTHING!!! I HAVE FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO STAMP ME CARDS FOR CHRISTMAS AND B-DAYS, ETC.......AND I DO MAKE SURE TO KEEP STRANDS OF RIBBON AND I UN-DO BRADS AND KEEP THEM. THE ONLY TIME I GO DIGGIN' IS IF I FORGET TO DO THOSE 2 THINGS!!!

Confession time. This Christmas I was giving cards, etc. to co-workers. I made sure to include all staff memebers at the party (even the gal who has gone out of her way to be rude to me). After the party I noticed she had left her card at the table and it was to be thrown in the garbage. I discretly put the card in my purse and mailed it to a volunteer (from another organization) who certainly was not expecting a card. I felt good and the recipient did too.

My husband loves Florida Gators football and I love Georgia Bulldogs football (the biggest rivals) and when we play each other, we put 100 mile an hour tape (it's an Army thing and it's expensive so he only uses it for this occasion) down the middle of the sofa, make LOSER signs and put them around the house, and wear our college gamewear. He was in Iraq when the game came on so I mailed him a card a week ahead of time with a Georgia Bulldog theme and he laid it flat in the top of the trashcan and took a picture of it and e-mailed it to me! What a fun JERK!

Your card is adorable. I love the luscious lashes....cracked me up! Too cute. I don't think you would be rude to dumpster dive...go for it! Just don't eat anything you find!

I love what anonymous said about rescuing a card that would be thrown away and sending it to a volunteer who wasn't expecting it. You know that person was delightfully surprised! And I love the crab!

*shriek!* LOVE THIS!! She's so cute. I don't have this set, can you believe it, but if I did, I prolly wouldn't have thought to make him a "girlie girl" tooo cute! Love the CB bg too. Nope, don't have any dumpster divin' stories for ya :( All my friends/family tell me they keep every one of my cards (most of them don't stamp!) And the kids' cards I've made, who KNOWS!! I can tell you the most memorable card that made a BIG impression on my girlfriend was when she was 29 and had cancer (Hodgekins Lymphoma--the good kind, if there IS a good kind) and she was bald and we went shopping for scarves. I made her a card that had a circle cut out for the head and I used the "fun faces" for her face and instead of giving her hair, I ripped a piece of a pretty material and made a "fashionable" scarf for the girl on the card. My friend doesn't like to look at pictures of herself from that time in her life, but she loved the card so much and she said she'll keep it forever.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your girlie crab!!! Well...I don't think I've ever dug through the trash (but I WOULD, seriously, to rescue a card!) but I have been thinking about getting a custom stamp fpr the back that says something to the effect of
"If this card is headed to the trash please Return To Sender instead!" Whaddayathink??! :)

i am so buying the crab set!! i love your blog and your work!! and i would dig through the trash. i have done it. personally, it's dismaying that someone would throw away a hand made card, and even worse if they don't wait until the person that made it is gone. i understand that cards take up space, but really... when my ex and i split, i seriously considered taking all the cards i made him. but i didn't want the memories. my husband says he'll keep all the cards i make for him forever.
