Pick a Petal Bella Rose

Good afternoon stampers! I didn't have much time to play today. I'm busy getting ready for the weekend. I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already, AND August! Summer is flying by.... indeed. :)

I have to admit this card is almost completely CASE'd by an awesome card I saw in the Pick a Petal Gallery at SCS stamped by
DJLuvs2stamp. I loved it so much I decided to make a version with the new Bella Rose Designer Paper and the new IN Colors from Stampin'Up!.

The Recipe:

Stamps: Pick a Petal, All Holidays.
Paper: Baja Breeze Textured, Riding Hood Red, Bella Rose Designer Paper.
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black.
Other: Poly Twill Olive Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, In Color buttons, Dimensionals, DMC Thread, Janome Sew Mini, Scor-Pal.

Sorry for the short post, but the gang is hungry for dinner. I'll see you tomorrow for the Hanna Challenge. Hope you had a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Hula Hanna Sneak Peek

Aloha friends! Hanna is doing the hula! Well, she is on Friday when you can get the newest Hanna releases! Look at that coconut drink...... it's making me thirsty! I love the flowers around her ankles and wrists.... too cool.

You are planning on being at the Hanna member forums on Thursday night for the release party right? Hope to see you there!

I just love this designer paper from Imaginisce called A Shore Thing. I think it's my very last piece. You can't see in the photo but the paper has glitter on it too. In fact, the green glitter on the paper matches her skirt perfectly. How did you do that you ask? *snort*

I got an email from my friend (and dirty girl past) Lila Holgate telling me that I HAD to try this new glitter paint. She knows how much I like to glitterize. She told me they had numerous shades of pink.... well, DANG, talk about pushing my buttons. How could I resist numerous shades of pink glitter? Of course I had to check it out and get me some! She wasn't kidding when she said they had a ton of colors! You'd be proud, I narrowed it down to only TWO shades of pink. I got some other colors too. So, on Hanna's skirt is the celery Shimmerz and on the flowers I added the Magenta Shimmerz. Fun stuff! I just sqeeze out the water on the tip of my aquapainter and dip it in the lid of the paint. It dries fast and has a glittery shine like SHAZAM! Watch out... Cams has new glitter... in various shades to boot!!

The Recipe:

Stamps: Hula Hanna (Hanna Stamps)
Paper: Neenah White, Certainly Celery, Prism Blush Red Dark, A Shore Thing (Imaginisce).
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black, Copic Markers.
Other: Shimmerz (Celery and Magenta), 3/4 inch and 1 inch Circle Punches, Crafter's Tool Kit, Celery Brads, Dimensionals, Scor-Pal.

Have a super day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

Hanna Halloween Sneak Peek!

Too cute! Look at the scarecrow! He's part of a new mini Halloween set available Friday from Hanna Stamps! You are going to love all the new releases on Friday. I had a hard time deciding which set to open first.

I colored him in with Copic Markers and added the dark dusky sky with the chisel end of the marker. Love that bat.

I added some sparkle with a new product called Shimmerz. It comes in a ton of colors and you just paint it on and it dries fast too. I used the coffee brown with my aquapainter all over the straw portion. Adds a nice touch... glitter always adds the perfect touch... don't ya think?

I'm out the door again.. off to swimming lessons this afternoon. I will pop back in later and post the full recipe.

The Recipe:

Stamps: Halloween Mini (Hanna Stamps), Flannel Plaid Background (SU!)
Paper: Neenah White, Prism
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black, Copics.
Other: Round Scallop Punch (SU!), Scallop Punch (Marvy... yellow), Round 1 1/4 Punch, Coffee Shimmerz, Dimensionals, Scallop Edge Punch (SU!), Crafter's Tool Kit, Janome Sew Mini, Scor-Pal.

Don't forget to stop by over at the SCS Hanna member forums on Thursday night for the release party! You don't want to miss out on the fun and prizes.

Thanks for stopping by!

Designer Bags

I think I first saw these cute little bags from someone on SUDSOL, but I'm not sure. I know there are a ton of tutorials and you've probably already seen them, but I promised my stampin girls that I'd write a one for them.

These bags were our other project at my workshop last weekend. If you know who originally came up with this idea, please let me know and I'll link to that person. Thanks to whoever came up with this fun project... I love these bags! They are VERY easy to make. Edited: Okay, thanks girls, it is Judy Miller...she shared this bag back in April of 2007! The original idea came from Martha Stewart. :) Thanks Judy!!!

What you need:

One 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of card stock.
One 5 1/2 x 11 piece of designer paper.
One 1.5 x 11 inch piece of designer paper.
Round Tab Punch
Crop-a-dile, Large Eyelets
Scallop Edge Scissors or punch
Whatever you want to decorate your bag with.

Cut your card stock for the bottom of your bag 4 1/2 x 4 1/2, then score along each edge at 1 inch.

Cut on on two sides on the score lines to make little tabs for your box.

Add adhesive to the tabs to make your box.

Cut your designer paper 5 1/2 x 11. Add Scor-Tape along one long side and one short side. You put the tape on the side of the paper that you want to be in the inside of your bag.

Peel the liner off the tape from the long side only. Start your box half way off the edge with the bottom of the box lined up with the bottom of your paper. Press down on the inside of your box.

Continue to roll your box along the edge making sure that you press down on the inside each rotation so that you get a nice adhere job. Is that a word? Adhere job? LOL.

When you get to the last rotation, peel off the short side of the tape liner and carefully adhere the last side.

You will need one more strip of designer paper or card stock for the finishing touch of your bag. Cut this piece any width you want by 11 inches. You can decorate the edge with scallop scissors or a scallop punch. Add either Scor-Tape, or Snail Adhesive to the back side.

Start at the back of your bag near the seam and adhere to the bottom one side at a time.

Add your tabs for the top, and decorate as you please. I used the big flower from Stampin'Up!'s Pretties Kit for the front of this one. I used the 3/4 inch circle punch to add a piece of coordinating designer paper for the center and then stuck in through the bag with a Rhinestone brad (that comes in the Pretties Kit). The possibilities are endless. Easy Peasy!

We had a blast making these at our workshop.... I love seeing how everyone added their own little touch to each bag. What a fun little gift bag!

Hope you all have a great day.. thanks for stopping by.

Hanna Challenge #26

Whoo Hooo! I made a Hanna Challenge Card. Christmas in July today baby! Check out the SCS member forum here for the challenge. I love this sketch from design team member Frances... thanks girl! The challenge is the sketch, but you get bonus points if you make it a Christmas card! :)

Can you believe I only have one big circle punch? I need to get the circle Nesties. I thought since this circle was a little small it needed the ribbon on the side. The paper is from Heidi Grace.... I LOVE her paper! The card stock is Prism... love that card stock too. One side is textured and the other is smooth.... brilliant.

Here is the sketch if you want to come and play!

Here is the Recipe:

Stamps: Snowman Riley, Things Riley Would Say.
Paper: Prism, Georgia Pacific, Heidi Grace.
Ink: Distress Ranger Black Soot, Copics

Rockin' Holiday

Look at that Santa's beard! I love him.... he's so rolly polly. This is the last sneak peek of the week. I have to say, that I LOVE this Christmas set. The sentiments are perfect and like all the LAD sets, it has lots of stamps so it gives you tons of options to make different cards and scrap pages.

Santa's beard is covered with Cotton Ball White Fun Flock, the tree has Liquid Pearl bulbs, and the stockings have Liquid Appliqué fur tops! I think adding all the little details is the best, most fun part! I also used my Sakura Glaze pens and my atyou Spica Glitter pens... of course you can never quite capture that glitter on camera. The designer paper is from the Heidi Grace Jolly & Bright line. The card stock is from Prism.

The Recipe:

Stamps: Rockin' Holiday
Paper: Prism, Heidi Grace, Georgia Pacific.
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black, Copic Markers.

Gizmos and Gears

Another sneak peek from Lizzie Anne Designs! This cute set is called Gizmos and Gears. I know, most people would probably not make the robot pink, but DANG, isn't she cute? I think she is perfect in pink. *wink*

The designer paper is from that 8x8 gcd pad that my Aunt shared with me.... it's called Rose Colored Glasses. The main base is Prism card stock and the main image is on Whisper White. I used Craft Pink Passion to stamp the robot, then after she dried added some accents with my Sakura Glaze pens and my atyou Spica Glitter Pens. The knobs on her chest are those sticky pearls from Ellen Hutson.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Gizmos and Gears
Paper: Prism, (gcd designs) Rose Colored Glasses Designer Paper, Whisper White, Basic Black.
Ink: Pink Passion Craft, Distress Soot Black.
Other: Sticky Pearls, Sakura Glaze Pens, atyouSpica Glitter Pens, Corner Tag Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals, Stampin' Write Markers, Scor-Pal, Vintage Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit.

The Cutest Little Lizzie Witch!

I know! How cute is she? I love LAD's little people... did you see the adorable cow girl yesterday? Halloween is one of my favorite things... who doesn't like an excuse to eat candy and make cute cards? For this card I used birthday sketch #3.... are you going to enter the contest?

I used the Copic Air Brush system and Eclipse Masking Tape to get the gray mist around her. IRL it really brings out the web in the background paper (hard to see in the photo... sorry). She has a lot of glitter too.... with my new atyou Spica glitter pens.... I love those pens... have I told you that? The little charm I think I got from Oriental Trading Co, but I'm not sure... I've had them for a long time. This one says "witch's brew" on it. The Happy Halloween on the front of the card is from the set called Celebration Sayings (love that font). The inside is a new single and it says Witching you a Happy Halloween!

I also have the new LAD hand stamped stamp on the back... did you see that yesterday on the other design team's blogs? You can see more new releases today by visiting Meridith's and Tricia's blogs for a list of design team members with more samples.

I have another card half done, but ran out of steam. I'm recovering from nasty cold... I'll post later today, so come back and visit if you can. Thanks for stopping by! Have a super day!

I'm adding my second card with the new Happy Halloween Single. It's hard to see on the photo, but the letters have little eyes all over them. SUPER cute. I also used the stamp set Spooked from Lizzie Anne Designs.

Thanks everyone!

I decided to make a double slider card and get out my other LAD set called It's a Party. Wouldn't this make a great party invitation? You can view an awesome tutorial on double slider cards over at SCS in the resources section. They are very easy, but have a great wow factor.

Make sure to check out the Birthday Celebration Page and check out the other blogs that will be posting new stamp set samples today. Remember, it's not too late to enter the contest and win that big ole birthday prize!! You have until Thursday to submit your card. Tomorrow I'm posting a card from another new release using one of the birthday sketches. Can you guess from which set?

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Garden Isle, It's A Party (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Paper: GP, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette.
Ink: Distress Black Soot, Copics, Riding Hood Red.

Can you see the extra glitter that the Spica Glitter Pens add to the image? Even her lips have some red sparkle on them. I LOVE those pens! Look at her skirt... how cool is that. And, it couldn't be easier. You can click on the photos to see a bigger version.

Okay, enough blabbing from me today, don't forget to check out the other LAD designer blogs to see more samples of newly released sets. I hope to see you tomorrow. Have a super day!

This one was fun... I love Hanna's for paper piecing.. they are just FUN. For a little tutorial on paper piecing click here. I also added some glitter and bling to her with my atyou Spica Glitter pens... I love having the different colors and it's the perfect amount of glam. You can look good and be a sports star!

The paper is from an 8x8 pad from g c d studios (thanks Roseanne)... my Aunt is so good to me, she sent me half the pad and the paper is all shades of pink. The card stock is from Prism.

The Recipe:

New Scallop Punch Closure

I didn't have much time to play this weekend, my family had other plans. LOL. I did though, discover a cool thing that you can do with the new Scallop Edge Punch. At first I just punched one time to make like a matchbook fold/closure, but then added scallops to the other side too... isn't it cute? Just make your first punch with the card stock pushed all the way in in the center (pink side), then on the flap, make a little mark on the edge of where the first one ends, then punch the flap side. Cool beans huh?

Here is how it opens:

I also discovered that the Round Rhinestone Brads will fit in the center of the flower button! How cool is that? I think the button may be a little big for the image, but I couldn't help to add it on there because it was so pretty with the rhinestone center.

I stamped the image from the one of the upcoming new hostess sets called Serene Spring with Black Stazon. I started to color the pot with my Aquapainter and some ink from the lid of the new In Color Tangerine Tango Classic ink pad, but then switched when I got to the flowers and the rest of the image to the Blender pens. Did you know you can do that? Just squeeze the lid of your pad before you open it, then use it as a paint palette. I love the blender pens because you can change colors easily and get different shading. I used all the new IN Colors and then added some sparkle with my atyouSpica Glitter Pens.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Serene Spring
Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Belle Rose Designer Paper.
Ink: Baja Breeze,
Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Black Stazon.
Other: New Buttons, 3/4 inch Circle Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, White Taffeta, Crafter's Tool Kit, Round Rhinestone Brads, Spica Glitter Pens, Scor-pal.

It will all be available next month in the new Stampin'Up! catalog. I can't wait to see what else in store for us!!

Hope you had a great weekend... thanks for stopping by!

New SU! in Da House Baby!

Oh, I love my UPS man... even when he hits my house late. My new goodies are here! They are HERE! Oh, man..... oh man.... I told myself I was not going to LOVE the new colors.... yah right. SNORT. Oh, the new pink? Yah, it's MINE baby! I think they made a mistake on the name though... I think Shelli meant to name it Cambria Pink. *wink*

The new designer paper? YUMMY... see the buttons? We were only allowed to pre-order a small package of two, so I can't wait to order the whole set! The stamp set is a hostess set, so you can earn it for free. It's called Serene Spring. I used the watercoloring for cheaters method to color... it was super fast and easy! LOOK at the scallop!! It's a punch.... oh, I'm in punch heaven!! Okay... this was a quickie out of the box, throw it together... I need to stamp some more! More paper to explore.... be back soon.

The Recipe:

Stamps: Serene Spring, Short and Sweet.
Paper: Watercolor Paper, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip.
Ink: Black Stazon, Stampin' Write Markers.
Other: Aquapainter, Dimensionals, Chocolate Poly-Twill Ribbon, New In Color Buttons, Mini Glue Dots, Scallop Edge Punch, Sakura Black Glaze and Glitter Pen, Janome Sew Mini, Scor-Pal.

Whoo hooo! It's a happy evening at the Turnbow house!
