OCLDT02 Friday Sketch

Sorry I'm late... I have to admit this sketch was a challenge for me!  Everything I stamped in my head, just didn't fit the sketch when I finished!  So, this morning, I went back to the drawing board, dug into my scrap bin and took another look at Charmaine's beautiful card.  Although this didn't photograph well (it's really cloudy and rainy here on the OR Coast this morning), I'm thrilled that I got to play with Vintage Swirls.  I LOVE how many possibilities you have when you create with this wonderful stamp set.  The sentiment is from our new set called In Flight.

I added some accents to those Vintage Swirls using my Sakura Glaze Black pen, and  also some white with my Ranger White Gel pen.  I love love love those Sakura Glaze pens... they look like embossing...without the mess.  I used Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy Ink for a pretty shimmer.

Tomorrow, I will show you what I made with my failed attempts.  Things were not going well for me this week!  If you want to play along, we'd love to see what you make!  Click here to check out the sketch challenge.  We pick a winner on the 1st of March for this month.... every entry up until that date counts (on all sketches for the month).  The entries for this sketch will also be included on the April 1st drawing as well, so you time to play, and a chance to win a free stamp set.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Sunshine to Val from Cal

My friend Val.... I call her Val from Cal (cuz she lives in the sunshine state of California), just got out of the hospital, so I figured she needed some sunshine and a get well wish.  I just got some new EK Success border punches from my LSS, Memories of Time.  Oh, man, I really wanted to scream when I saw them.  How cool is this jumbo scallop?  I love it!  I just dig those border punches!  Have I told you I want them all?

I made the little frame using two Rectangle Nestabilitie dies.  I ran two sizes through at the same time, then popped it up with some foam dots.  The Sunshine has some Lemon Drop Crafty Sparkles on it, and the clouds are covered with Sugar Sparkly Fluff.  I used my Copic Air compressor to color around the clouds and to add some yellow over the sentiment.  I stamped another sun and cut it out and stuck it on with a foam square too.

And... I'm on a mission to use EVERY scrap of the Lucy Bird designer paper by Imaginisce.  So, I threw some on the inside.

eP has a great bundle with this set!  Have you seen it?  What a deal... click here.   This set is SO versatile.. and just plain fun!  I'm going to be sending some sunshine out.. I'm on a mission!

Have a great day!  Don't forget to check The Lounge tomorrow for another Friday OCLDT sketch!

Hippity Hoppity Easel Candy & Card

Hey Stampers!  There has been so much buzz about the easel card, I decided to do an easel candy box!  So much fun and SO easy.  Especially easy because this is a Sizzix die.  All I did was score that top lid in half and add a flower with a brad to the window!  We'll be making this cute box and card down at Memories of Time this Saturday.  It seems like forever since I've seen the girls, and I can't wait to hang out and get inky with them!

This stamp set is called Hippity Hoppity, and I LOVE IT!  It's so much fun to color and Sparkly Fluff . After I was completely done coloring and fluffing, I added some Glossy Accents to the frog's eyes and set it aside to dry.  Click on the photo for a larger view.  Pretty cool huh?  That designer paper is... you guessed it, Lucy Bird from Imaginisce.
I think there are three spots left for our class, so it's not too late to stop by the store and save a spot.  We'd love to see you... we always have so much fun!  Thanks for stopping by!    ~Cambria

Shamrock Blessings

Hey Stampers!  I hope your week is off to a better start than mine.  My washer broke on Sunday.  Well, it died.... it's been on the way out for awhile.. taking forever to dry things because the washer wasn't spinning them enough.  SO.. I was already behind, now I'm just buried!  My goal this week is to get all the laundry done, so the delivery man can bring me a new one on Friday.  Thank goodness my Mom AND my Grandma live next door!  I'm borrow both their washers!  Wish me luck!

Speaking of luck... I love this set called Shamrock Blessings.  The inside says, "I'm so lucky you picked me to be your friend." It's the Crafty Sparkles that makes this card SHAZAM.  I added Sugar Sparkles to the shamrock border, the dandelions and the little bug.  I used my Copic air compressor to add a nice "glow" around the image.  I got a cool new circle paper piercing template down at Memories of Time, and used my new Tim Holtz poker to pierce the edges.  It's layered on a Blossom Nestie die by Spellbinders.  I also used my EK Success border punch on the inside... and OH... I was feeling SO sorry for myself today, that while at MOT, I bought THREE more new ones!  I can't wait to use them!  Yah, I know, drop a load for a new washer, then buy three more punches... go figure.  It didn't make sense to me either... but it didn't stop me!

Have you had a chance to check out the two challenges going on right now?  Click here to play along at The Lounge, and HERE to play along over at MOT.  Can't wait to see what you make!!

Back to the laundry I go..... see ya soon!

How About Another Challenge?

I got an email last week from a customer sharing a super cute card she'd made with this set called Mice Friends.  I haven't had much time to play with this one, but she totally inspired me to get it out.  I love it when customers share with us creations they make with our sets... it makes my days!

This week, at the Memories of Time blog, Heather has posted a sketch challenge.  Memories of time, or MOT as we locals call it, is where Kisa and I teach classes.  I LOVE it down there.  We always have so much fun!  Michelle has DA bomb of a store too!  She carries all the best products and paper!  The challenge is open to everyone, and there will be a prize sponsored by OCL, so head over and play along if you can.  Click here.

One thing I love about our Sparkly Fluff, is that you can still see the shading of the coloring under the sparkle. The flower center is colored with Y00, then Y21, then back with my Y00 to blend.  That little guy looks SO cute hanging on to that flower.  The grass stamp is from the stamp set Shamrock Blessings. The paper is from Imaginisce... yah, you guessed it, the Lucy Bird line.  The cardstock is from Bazzill called Navajo.   The dies are both from Spellbinders, Labels Eight (Main image) and Ribbon Tag Trio Two.  Michelle carries it all down at MOT!

Hope you all had a great weekend!  Did you have a chance to play along with the OCLDT sketch?  If you did, make sure you stop by the blog and leave your link!! A new sketch is going to be posted on Friday!

OCLDT01 Friday Sketch

Hey stampers!  Over at The Lounge, each Friday, we are hosting a Design Team Sketch.  Each sketch is based on a card made from one of our wonderful DT members.  Once a month, we'll pick a random winner, who will receive a stamp set of their choice.  All you have to do it play along, then post your link on the thread.  Now, before you start on your sketch, click here to see the real one, because I messed this one up!  LOL.

Well, okay, so you really can't "mess" up sketches... they are meant to inspire you.  I had it all right, but then my image was too big do do the "sketch" way, so I kinda flipped it.  I made two and colored them a little different. I'm hoping to make more cards this weekend with the "real" sketch!

This stamp set is one from our second release called Snail Mail.  The paper is from the Lucy Bird line from Imaginsce.  The brads are from 7 Gypsies.  Jewels are from Bazzill, along with the cardstock.

I hope you have a great weekend!  Come and Lounge with us and try our the DT Sketch if you can!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hoppin' Into Spring with Lucy Bird

Hey Stampers... sorry I've been MIA again.  I thought we'd all get a break after CHA, but boy was I wrong!  Not complaining... being busy is good,  I just miss having some stamp time.  :)

All my cards these days are simple and easy.  It's all I have time for.  And, yes, I'm still in love with the new Lucy Bird paper from Imaginisce.  LOVE IT!  I have scraps everywhere and I'm determined to use them all, so you've been warned.  This is another sample from the set called Hoppin' Into Spring, from our CHA release.  I'm still waiting on getting some stamp sets, but I'll stamp with another set soon.  I'm just so excited for Spring to come, and it's been beautiful here on the OR coast the last few days.

I added some Appletini Sparkly Fluff to the grass in the basket and the carrot tops to add a bit of sparkle and touchablitity.  His cute little belly is covered with Sugar Sparkly Fluff too!

The shape the main image is on is a Nestablility die from Spellbinders... label eight I think.  The brads are from Bazzill along with the cardstock.  It's Navajo and Princess.  The white cardstock is Neenah.  I used a border punch from EK Success.  LOVE those punches... did I tell you I'm on a mission to collect them all?

Hope you have a terrific day!  I'll see you tomorrow for our new OCLDT sketch.  Thanks for stopping by!

No Bunny Like You

Hey Stampers!  Today, I'm sharing a quick card with the set called Hoppin' Into Spring.  LOVE that cute bunny butt teetering from the top of the can.  He's all Sparkly Fluffed too... so you just have to touch him!  The peas are covered with Clear Glaze with my Sakura Pen.. so they just pop off the page.
I also added some Appletini Sparkly Fluff highlights to those carrot tops.  The designer paper is from the lovely Lucy Bird line by Imaginisce, and the cardstock is from Bazzill, along with those jewels.  That die is from Spellbinders called Labels Eight.  Border punch is EK Success.

I'm off to Florence today to meet up with Marianne.  I'm half way done with all the treat bags for Averie's Valentine party... I'll show you those soon.  Tomorrow night I tackle her treats to hand out.  Keeping it simple this year!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Tres Chic DePorc Birthday

I've got another Tres Chic DePorc sample to share with you today... sorry it's not another new set, but this bug I caught is hanging in with me.    I'm sure tomorrow will be better.  I NEED to feel better because I've got a busy week ahead.  Wednesday, I'm driving to Florence to meet up with Marianne... I can't wait to see what she's drawn up for us!  Friday is Averie's Valentine party and guess who volunteered me to make the class treat bags?  I just love that girl! Haven't decided on Valentines to make yet, but I know which stamp set I'm using.

Have you tried to Sparkly Fluff brads?  If you look closely in the photo (you can click on it for a larger view), not only is the bottom of the lounge couch sparkly Fluffed (by using Scor-tape), but also the brads.  Just add some Glossy Accents and dip those brads!  I'm IN LOVE with the background stamp in this set.. just add some ink and you've got perfect leopard skin in any color.

I want to wish my friend Jenn Balcer a wonderful birthday today!  Hope it's THE best girlfriend!

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Hippity Hoppity....

I wanted to share something from another new set this weekend, but I've been really sick and didn't have time to get anything else stamped.  So, I'm going to show you two more samples from the set called Hippity Hoppity. Both of these cards are CASE'd from the SOTM boards my sweet friend, and DT coordinator Kendra Wietstock made for our CHA release.  I used different designer paper and ribbon and added Glossy Accents to the frog's eyes.

I am in love with the new paper from the Lucy Bird line by Imaginisce. It's SO yummy and so Springy!  Both the bunny and frog have Cotton Candy Sparkly Fluff on their ears.  I used Appletini Sparkly Fluff on the grass and the carrot top.  The brads and jewel are from Bazzill, along with the wonderful cardstock.

I hope you have a great weekend.  Thanks for all the nice comments about our CHA release.  Stamps are arriving at your favorite stores this week.  I hope you share with us what you make with them!

PS... it's not too late to get in on the awesome Sunshine Cheer CHA Bundle from eP, but supplies are low, so hurry!

Spring Sketches/Fancy Fringe

Hello everyone!  What a week!  Today, I'm showing you a sneak peek from two new OCL stamp sets.  Spring Sketches and Fancy Fringe are both new and will be released next week to retailers everywhere!  Fancy Fringe has borders and fringe to match all our sets!  It's a great addition to your stamp collection.  I used the flower border and the dots from Fancy Fringe and the sentiment and big flower both belong in the Spring Sketches set.  If you want to head over to The Lounge, you can see more sneak peeks!

The center of the flower and the dots under the sentiment are covered with Glossy Accents so they are raised and shiny.  The center of the flower is covered with Cosmo Crystal Crafty Sparkles, and I used a clear atyou Spica pen for the centers of the little border flowers.  Lots of bling to brighten someone's day.  The stitching is faux... done with my paper piercer, piercing mat,  and a white gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll have more sneak peeks through the weekend! Are you watching the Superbowl or are you stamping?  I WANT TO KNOW!!  LOL.

Tres Chic DePorc

Oh yah...isn't she sassy? Don't you love her?  I love her... she makes me smile!  She's drinking an Appletini (which is actually our Crafty Sparkles).  Chillin' with her dog.... she can't be much cooler!  That animal print is included as a background stamp in the set, so you can imagine all the possibilities for creativity with this set.  I used Bazzill Jewels across the top and on the pillows, and score tape along the lounge chair with Black Eyeliner Sparkly Fluff sprinkled on top.  That little pom pom trim is also from Bazzill.  This card is all blinged out baby!
Have you been over to The Lounge this week to check out all the new stamp sets?    If not, head over and check them out!  Your favorite store will have them soon!  We started shipping this week and expect to have them all out by the 12th.
Thanks for stopping by!  I'd love for you to share your favorite set so far. :)

Hoppin' Into Spring

We are showing sneak peeks all week long from our CHA release.  I'm so ready to be hoppin' into Spring.... what about you?  This set is called just that, Hoppin' Into Spring.  It's illustrated by Marianne Walker and it's WAY cute! The set also includes some nice sentiments for the gardeners in your life.  If you want to see the entire set, you have to head over to The Lounge.

I used my favorite new designer paper from Imaginisce Lucy Bird Collection.  I used cardstock from Bazzill; Navajo, Watermelon Sensation and Princess.. the white is Neenah.  I added Appletini Sparkly Fluff to the basket so it really looks and sparkles like Easter grass.  I used Label One Nesties and Ribbon Tag Trio Two from Spellbinders.  Those little jewels are from Bazzill.

Thanks for the sweet comments!  I can't wait to see what you make with these new sets!   See you soon!

E-i E-i Hello!

Ready for another sneak peek?  Did you check out The Lounge to see some of the new sets?  Stop by again today to see even more!  Do you have a favorite so far?

This cute cow is from a set illustrated by Marianne Walker... it's called E-i E-i Hello.  The two cows in the set are just adorable.  We also have a sentiment set called Barnyard Banter.  All the sentiments match this set and one illustrated by Debbie Corbari called The Barnyard.

This is an easel card... have you  tried one yet?  There is a super tutorial over at SCS by my friend Beate.  The scallop border holds the front up so you can display your card.  They are super fun and very easy to make.

For more sneak peeks, stop by The Lounge!  Thanks for visiting today!
