OCLDT15 Friday Sketch

Yea! It's Friday!  Where did this week go?  Seems like they are going by faster and faster.  I cannot believe my kids only have a couple more weeks of school, then my summer officially begins. Crazy how fast this school year flew by.

Today, over at The Lounge, there is a new sketch challenge posted.  You can play along with any sketch over the past month for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice on June 1st!  This sketch is based on a card by the talented Holly McMillen.  You must head over and see her Granny card.  I love Granny... just saying.  :)

This stamp set is called Hangin' with Kona.  I love him!  He's just so cute and so much fun to color.  The paper is from Creative Imaginations, cardstock from Prism.  The main image is on a Nestie along with the sentiment.

Today is my dear friend's birthday! You all know how much I adore my sweet friend and business partner Joy... if you can, head over and wish her a happy birthday.  I hope you have THE best day Mounds!!

Have a super weekend everyone!  Thanks for stopping by!

OCLDT14 Flower Power

My daughter is SOOOO into everything peace sign!  Her clothes and accessories are all flower power, groovy, peace and love baby!  Her teacher calls her the peace girl!  She gasped when she saw this card... LOL.  I do have to say that the Punk Purple Sparkles make it kinda fun!  This card is based on the OCLDT14 Sketch.  The original card is made by Heather McNally... friend extraordinaire and behind the scenes coordinator for many OCL projects.  Come over to The Lounge and play with us! You could win a free stamp set of your choice.  We draw a new winner every month.
Adding the fun Sparkle was easy!  Just take a craft knife and cut out the center of the peace sign, then add packing tape to the back... you know the clear kind? Be careful not to touch the center part, but make sure it's nice and tight.  Then, take your Crafty Sparkles and dump it over the top and shake off the excess.  You've got one groovy, sparkly, Flower Power (the name of the set), card to send!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend.  I'm hoping the rain and clouds will clear so we can see that sunshine!

Another OCLDT13 Sketch Card

I seriously don't know who can resist these cute picnic ants.  I LOVE them!  Click on the photo and you can see that the pie has some Brown Sugar Sparkly Fluff and the grass some Appletini Sparkly Fluff... it really gives the card touchability!  The cherry is covered with my red atyou Spica Pen, then covered with Clear Sakura Glaze, along with the flower centers.  SO much fun!

This card is based on the OCLDT13 sketch.  I'm loving it!  Head over to The Lounge for all the details, you can play along and win a stamp set!

Have you seen OCL's summer release?  Click here, to see it all.  Have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

OCLDT13 Friday Sketch

Hello Stampers! Whooo Hoooo, it's Friday!  I'm SO ready for the weekend.  Don't miss our on the newest  Design Team Sketch Challenge over at The Lounge today.  You could win a free stamp set of your choice!  All you have to do is pick one of the sketches (or play each week for more chances to win), and leave us a link to your creation.  We draw a new winner on the 1st of every month.  This week's sketch is based on a card by Amber Hillman.

I used two stamp sets, Fabulous Florals and Say it With Flowers.  I sprayed the background piece and the flower with Snowflake Glimmer Mist... but you can't see the sparkle in the photo.  The flower I cut and colored four times, then put them on top of a sponge pad and used an impressor stylus to make the petals curl. I stuck them all together with a brad.  I added black dots with my Sakura Black Glaze Pen to the centers of the swirl and the flowers on the background piece.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Picnic Time!

I cannot wait for picnic time! It's been down right cold here on the Oregon coast!  This is a super easy card, one you could make for invitations or just as a summer greeting.  We spend every 4th of July at the lake and get to watch the fireworks floating in a boat! It's good times for sure. The images in this new set from OCL, make me wish July would hurry and get here!!

This new stamp set is called Patriotic Parade.  Lots of fun stuff that fits in a wagon, and a cute bear too!  Crafty Sparkles makes this card sparkle! I used my Fiskars Nesting Star punches to make those stars, and Nestablility dies for the frame.  Bring on the summer and those picnics baby!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope to see you tomorrow for a new OCLDT Sketch!

OCLDT12 Treasured Friend

Better late than never right? It's been another very busy week in the Turnbow house... as usual.  Last Friday, Kisa and I... or really, I should say Kisa had our class (I was having fun visiting with the girls) down at Memories of Time.  I REALLY missed the girls, and once again, we had a great time. Kisa never ceases to amaze me with her project ideas.  Next month, we use this set, called Treasured Friend.  I can't stop playing with it.  I paired it up with an old favorite called Sandy Sunsets.
I used the bottom portion of the other stamp in this set (the girl on the beach with the bucket), for the sand at their feet, and the palm tree and birds from Sandy Sunsets.  I put the girls on one block, so I only stamped once.  I added some Coffee Bean Sparkles to the tree with a Quickie Glue Pen.  I filled my Aqua Painter with bleach and carefully colored their skin to make the cardstock bleach out.. so they weren't blue. :) I used the Quickie Glue again to add little dots and then sprinkled the sand with Brown Sugar Sparkly Fluff.  You can't see in the photo very well, but I used the Sea Scape Impressabilities to emboss the white with shells.

There is still time to play along with the OCLDT Sketch challenge!  You have the rest of the month to play along with any of the sketches for a chance to win.  Friday, a new sketch will be posted! Let's see if this week, I can post on Friday!  That's my goal! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Treasured Friend

I know, you are probably tired of hearing it, but these last few weeks have made me REALLY appreciate the good friends I have in my life.  Speaking of Treasured Friends (it's the name of the stamp set!), my friend Kisa is one that I treasure! She is sweet, kind and OH SO funny! That girl can make me laugh on the worst of days.  She made this stamp set... I'm so proud of her.

Those girls are separate, so you can stamp them any way you want.  In the frame, out of the frame, either way they are adorable.   For this card, I put both of them on one acrylic block so I just stamped them once.  Look close at the sand... can you see the Sparkly Fluff?  I added little dots of glue with my Quickie Glue Pen, then sprinkled on the Sparkly Fluff, then tapped off the excess.  I added some sponging around the frame with Faded Jeans Distress Ink and colored the sand and girls with Copic Markers (E33, E00, E15, Y000). I stamped the shells with white craft ink.  I distressed the edges with a distressing tool.

Have a super day! Tomorrow, is another OCL Design Team Sketch! Hope you can play along!

Thanks Girls!

Today, I want to say a huge thank you for all the cards I've received since my Grandmother passed away.  I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to have so many awesome friends out there.  Thank you! Averie LOVED getting the mail each day and helping me open the envelopes.  Through the pain of my loss, I continue to feel so blessed.
Today, I'm sharing a card that I made using the new stamp set called Pretty Petals and the Big Thanks set from the last release.  I love the little bugs that come in this gorgeous flower set.  The designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket, the cardstock from Bazzill.  I used Copic markers for all the coloring and added dots to the center of the brad with my Sakura Black Glaze pen.  Of course the bugs are all glittered up with Crafty Sparkles. The big scallops along the bottom is made with one of my new EK Success border punches from MOT.

The winner of the 6 jars of Sparkly Fluff is:
