Happy Friday! I kept thinking yesterday was Friday since the kids were home on Wednesday. I think I'm finally getting better and will survive this nasty cold! Oh man, I've had a horrible time... and I'm still coughing, but I'm finally getting my energy back.
So... you know what time it is? It's an exciting time for Our Craft Lounge. We are celebrating ONE year! Our first year, and it's been an awesome one... thanks to you! I've experienced SO much this past year! I went to both winter and summer CHAs, and this September we were invited to participate at Scrapfest in the Mall of America. THAT was fun! It was for sure the highlight of the year for me! I look forward to many more exciting times ahead! I know the entire OCL team (we've had a lot of help!) appreciates each one of you! Your support and friendship mean the world to us!
Back to the fun.....Want a chance to win some AWESOME prizes? Our friend Heather has come up with a fun Scavenger hunt that starts at 6 am (pacific time)!Get all the the details at The Lounge. If you are a member in our forums, you can also find details and post questions here. Good luck! Now, go..... get started (after you visit the sketch team). *wink*
Good Friday morning everyone! I hope you have plans to play along with us over the weekend and try Beate's fun sketch. It's suppose to storm and rain all weekend here on the coast, so looks like it's a good excuse to stay indoors and play!
I turned this sketch into a shaker card! The frame on the front is made with my circle Nesties as well as the hole in the card front. The Crystal Chunky Sparkles are held in with a frame around the back side of the circle with double stick foam tape. The fabulous paper is from my Basic Grey 6x6 Urban Prairie Paper Pad. I know it looks black in the photo, but it's actually a dark brown paper that is included in that pack.

Happy Halloween weekend Friday! Sorry I'm late for the sketch! It was another busy week... Friday snuck up on me, and this morning I went to my daughter's class to help with the Halloween party. Kids are so cute... even all pumped up with candy! :)
I love shabby, but I suck at doing it. I have THE hardest time making things look "dirty" without just ruining the whole thing. I was thrilled when my BasicGrey Nook and & Pantry paper arrived! It's got that shabby/dirty look already done for me! I have something in store for this paper pack, that hopefully I will get done soon to show you, but for now, I used it and the matching brads for my weekend sketch card. PS... the stripe part is the opposite side of the designer paper... how easy was that? I'm such a cheater. :)
Please check out what the rest of the sketch team did , and come and play along with us! Remember to use the keyword WSC104 if you upload to SCS.
Whatcha doing this weekend? You have time to stamp? I hope so! Come and play along with us and let's see what you do with the weekend sketch! It's number 103, so don't forget to add WSC103 when you upload.
I know... I'm stuck on this paper and the Parka Penguin stamp set. I'll move on soon... promise. I just LOVE Parka Penguins and MME Colorful Christmas designer paper pack! Plus... I'm trying to organize my work space, so it's all that's out on my desk at the moment. :)
Those snow balls are icy! They are covered with Sakura Stardust, then they have a thick layer of Glossy Accents on them! The bird and her parka fluff is covered with Rockin' Pink Sparkly Fluff. The cool brad on the right with the cute "well, hello" sentiment is from My Mind's Eye Abbey Road brads. The ribbon is from American Crafts and the cardstock is from Prism. This one was quick and easy using my Marvy Punches for the scallop squares. The snow is our Chunky Sugar Sparkles, applied with the Glossy Accents. Want to play along? Need some inspiration? You can visit Beate's sketch team by clicking on their names. They always inspire me!
Beate Johns Charmaine Ikach Jenn Balcer Laurie Schmidlin Lori Craig Sharon Harnist Have a great weekend everyone! I'm heading down to MOT tomorrow night to do a workshop with Marianne Walker from Copic and my girls! I'll be solo... without my Kisa. I feel like I'm cheating on her! Her youngest son is having surgery (tonsils removed), so if you can send some thoughts or prayers his way over the weekend, it would be appreciated. Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Friday! Hope you are all staying healthy and warm! It's getting colder here on the OR coast... and half the kids are at home sick in the schools. One of my twins just went back to school yesterday, although I don't think he had the Swine Flu, he was pretty miserable. :(
I'm having SO much fun with the My Mind's Eye Paper packs! I LOVE LOVE LOVE... did I tell you, I LOVE the Colorful Christmas Kit? I do... it's DA BOMB. Each paper kit comes with one 12x12 page of cool border strips and cut outs. The tree, and the border (right under the ribbon) are from that strip, along with the snowflake and border strip on the inside of the card. I used two stamp sets to make this card. Parka Penguins and Snowy Sayings. I used our Sugar Crafty Sparkles and Sparkly Fluff to give it touchability and shazam! I used the Quickie Glue Pen to apply both. I added Sparkles on the inside snow flake cut out from the MME paper kit too....
I hope you can find some time over the weekend to stamp! Check out the rest of the sketch team by clicking on the names below:
Hey everyone! Happy Friday! Sorry I'm late. My Grandma missed a stair last night and scared us all! A slight concussion and a few stitches later, she is home and resting. She will be fine, but boy did it shake us all up. I finished my card this morning after making sure she was okay. I *think* I'm done shaking!
The beaver has Sparkly Fluff on his hands and part of his tail. The leaves and grass all have a touch of Sparkly Fluff too. The heart on the stump is all sparkly with atyou Spica Pen, then coated with Glossy Accents to make it stand out. I used Nesties for all the shapes and grabbed my Janome Sew Mini for the stitching.
100! Can you believe it? Make sure to visit Beate's blog for all kinds of fun prizes to help celebrate our 100th Weekend Sketch Challenge!
I haven't had much stamping time lately, so I was happy to see such an easy sketch. This one EVERYONE can do! Hope you can find a few minutes to play along this weekend! After all, it is National Card Making Day!
This card took only 10 minutes to make. Of course it helped that yesterday, I got a delivery from eP with NEW PAPER!
I fell in love with all the plaid papers at Summer CHA. I'm so thrilled to get my hands on it! This paper is from My Mind's Eye. The orange paper in the center is the opposite side of the paper. It's nice and thick, so all I did was stamp the big flower from Thankful Flourishes on the paper, and cut it out. The brad in the center is also from My Mind's Eye,.... easy peasy right? I LOVE those matching brads! The beautiful pink dots around the center is Pastel Raspberry Liquid Pearls.
Check out the sketch team! Hope you an play along over the weekend!
I'm spending the day down at Memories of Time with Kisa teaching classes on Saturday! I can't wait to hang out with the girls! Happy Card Making Day! Have a great weekend!
Wow, 99 really? That is amazing! Hope you can play along over the weekend. Check out Beate's blog for all the details. I'm happy to be back this week. I don't feel "right" when the weekend doesn't start off with a sketch and I missed the last two! So, whooohooo for Friday and whooohooo for the weekend sketch!
Can you tell I'm using what's on my desk? Well, if you saw my desk, you'd understand. But, I just got back from Scrapfest and I still have my Candy Monster Copic markers out... so I decided to switch it up a bit and use the coordinating set called Sweet Tooth Terrors. Love this little monster hoarding the candy!
I covered all those candies with Crafty Sparkles. His horn and ears (are those ears? wings?flaps?) with Punk Purple Sparkly Fluff. I applied both with my all time favorite Quickie Glue Pen. That cool ribbon I got at my LSSMemories of Time. I'm not sure who made it, but I'll find out next time I go... I just loved it so I grabbed some. The designer paper is from Bo Bunny and the cardstockBazzill. His cute eyes are raised and glazed with a dab of Glossy Accents.
Check out the rest of the sketch team... I can't wait to see what they did. I totally had withdrawals over the last two weeks!
Hello Stampers! Sorry I haven't posted all week. All I can say is TGIF and how the heck did it get to be Friday SO fast? OCL is getting ready for Scrapfest at Mall of America later this month. We are all running in a million directions! So, if you are going, I'm looking forward (and prepping up a storm) to see you in a few weeks! I'm also trying to get all four kids ready to start school soon, so I'm not going to be around much next week either. I'll do my best to pop in... I have a feeling September is going to be CRAZY!
Today, for Beate's sketch I chose to use the stamp set For-bitten. It's also our Spotlight of the Week Stamp set over at the OCL blog. My intentions were to get really "dirty" with this one, but dang it if I JUST COULD NOT DO IT! I think I need to take another Tim Holtz class. Maybe if I had more time, but yesterday was busier than expected. I WILL master the dirt... I just need more hours in the day. Next time, I WILL do it. May the force of Tim be with me..... I added our Rockstar Red Sparkles to the lips, and Perfect Pearls to the teeth. I cut out the drops of blood, added some Red Spica, then covered the entire drops with Glossy Accents. Touchable blood baby!
Check out the sketch team! I can't wait to see what they did this week with the sketch. Have a fun holiday weekend! Be safe!
THIS week is weekend sketch #95! You'd think I could keep something as easy as what number sketch we are on straight! These days..... well, it's not easy! Hey, at least I was done this week early! Only a couple more weeks and the kids will be back to school and then everything will make sense again... right? That's what I'm telling myself anyway!
Happy Friday by the way!
Check out the sketch team, and Beate's blog for all the details! Hope you can play along with us over the weekend!
Good morning! Sorry I'm late with the sketch this morning! I got it done yesterday, went to register my daughter for school, started prepping for our class tonight at Memories of Time, went to post last night and my internet was down. So... got up at 5 am to come down and post, realized I had done NEXT weekend's sketch! DOH! Ever have those days? Head over and visit Beate for all the weekend sketch details. Thanks for the fun sketch Beate!
I got this cool new tool at CHA called the iTop by Imaginisce. It's SUPER cool! The small brads fit all the centers from our set called Friendly Flowers.... how cool is that? You can make your own custom brads! At CHA they even used material... it's a very cool tool and easy to use! I cannot wait to find more time to play with it more!
Check out the rest of the sketch team to see what they created with this fun sketch!
Happy Friday! And... Happy Birthday to my sweet Averie Ann! Today, my baby turns 7! She is so excited to have a couple friends over at the cabin and a little party on Saturday at the lake. I can hardly believe seven years have passed. Someone make it slow down!
While at CHA, I ran into my sweet friends Meridith and Tricia from Lizzie Anne Designs. Those two girls are the sweetest! I miss being on their design team! Have you seen their new sets? I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one called Sweets and Treats! All the parts interchange... totally clever! The inside says " Wishing you a sweet birthday". Such a fun summer set... thanks girls! Supplies:
