Something's Screwy....

Hey everyone! How was your weekend? Thanks so much for the sweet comments on about the beach. I hope it wasn't too much for those of you on dial up. Did you check out the link about the Sand Dollars? Pretty cool huh? Thanks for sharing that Teresa!

I'm really behind on birthday cards.... well, okay, I'm behind on everything these days. So, I finally got a chance to play a bit with Mrs. Botz. Her dog is just itching to get a piece of that cake! I can totally see a botz dog leaning up like that on her wheel to get just a tad closer to that cake. :)

Hopefully you can see how the Clear Sakura Glaze pen makes the dog all shiny. I also added some to Mrs. Botz and the icing on the cake. Have I told you how much I love those Glaze pens? *wink*

Supplies:

Stamps: The Botz Family (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: My Mind's Eye (Penny Lane), Riding Hood Red, Neenah White.
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black, Riding Hood Red, Copic Markers.
Other: Celery Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit, Long Rectangle Nesties, Circle Nesties, Marvy Scallop Punch, Jody's Foam Dots, Clear and Black Sakura Glaze Pens, atyou Spica Pens, Janome Sew Mini, Scor-Pal.

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

A Trip to the Beach....

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! This is the last weekend of the kid's Spring Break. It rained the whole week.. which is typical for Spreak Break on the OR Coast. Did ya all know I live right on the Coast? Yep.... I'm seriously about 10 minutes from the beach. We don't go near enough.... we take it for granted I'm afraid. Yesterday, the sun popped out, so we decided to hit the beach. One of Averie's favorite things to do is go hunting for shells.

The photo above is part of a ship that shows itself every hundred of years or so... I'm not sure if it's really a 100, but it's the first time I've seen it in my lifetime and I've lived her all my life. Amazing to me that the sand levels can change so much. The ship is pretty cool.. you can see the back all the way to the front sticking out of the sand.

The other fun discovery yesterday was all the jelly fish that washed up. We must have hit the tide just right, because we found about five of them. This was one of the smaller ones, but look how purple it looks inside. Cool huh?

This is one of my twins, Baylor. See all the Sand dollars in his hands? Averie and him have been hunting for whole unbroken ones forever. It's easy to find whole ones, but they are usually broke on one side or the other. Guess who found two totally whole ones yesterday? ME... ME...ME! I think it's the first time... that I found two perfect Sand dollars!

This is Sheldon and Averie.Sheldon is turning 16 next month! Averie is 6.5... yes, the .5 matters. LOL. My little beachcomber. Jayce didn't go with us yesterday, so I don't have a photo of him :(

We really had a fun day. It was a nice end to Spring Break.

One last photo as we were leaving. The ocean looks so calm from a distance, but when you are close, it's rough and loud.... and amazing how fast the waves sneak up.

Oh wait, one more... of my perfect Sand Dollars. Yes... I gave them to the kids... one for Bay and one for A. Now, they each have one perfect one for their collection.

Hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Weekend Sketch #74

TGIF everyone! It totally doesn't feel like Friday to me having the kids home all week (Spring Break), but hey, I'm going with it.

This weekend's sketch is from Charmaine! Hop over to her blog and check it out! I hope you can play along over the weekend. And thanks to everyone who played along last week and was so sweet about my sketch.

I got out a very neglected stamp set of mine from Stampin' Up! called Under the Stars. I love that bear. I sparkled him up with Sparkly Fluff... and the mosquitoes too. The poor raccoon hates camping as much as me, but big ole bear is popping out to save him from the bugs! :) That's all I've got... the kids have zapped it all out of me! LOL. That and all the food in the house... man, the boys can eat! I sure hope the sun pops out today. Do ya hear me sunshine?

I can't wait to see what the rest of the team did with Charmaine's awesome sketch!

Hoppin' By.....

Can you believe Easter is just around the corner? We LOVE Easter at our house.... the kids cannot wait for Easter egg sandwiches. :) Of course there's all that yummy chocolate too. If you want to hop on by OCL, you'll find that our Easter sets are on sale! Now, through April 12th. :)

Sorry I've been MIA. It's Spring Break this week, so the kids are home, plus I've had lots of work. We'll be revealing our Summer Release soon and I can't wait to share it with you. Let's just say Granny is gettin' ready for summer. *wink* Plus, we've added a new illustrator to the team. You will LOVE her! I can't wait to introduce her. So many things to look forward to in April.... including the sun!

Today's card is using the challenge sketch OCL01. If you want to play along, check out this post. You have until Monday for a chance to win a free stamp set. I tried the sketch on a regular A1 sized card... it worked, but it was definitely more of a challenge.

Peanut has Baby Blue Sparkly Fluff on his bunny ears, and the bunny is covered with Cotton Candy Pink. We will have this available on our site soon, but it's available now at many of your favorite online stores. Sparkly Fluff is SO much fun. Just use your Quickie Glue Pen, then sprinkle.

Supplies:

Stamps: Peanut Bunny (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: My Mind's Eye, Neenah White, Baja Breeze, Regal Rose.
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black, Copic Markers.
Other: Circle Scallop Nesties, Slot Punch, Grosgrain Ribbon, Quickie Glue Pen, Cotton Candy and Baby Blue Sparkly Fluff, Multi Shaper Punch, Scor-pal.

Hope you had a great week. I'll see you tomorrow for the Weekend Sketch. :) Thanks for stopping by!

Weekend Sketch #73

And it's my turn! This weekend's sketch is by me. :) I hope you can play along. Happy Friday!

Today I picked a stamp set from Our Craft Lounge called Tooth Fairy Fun. I think she's adorable. Her wings are covered with Sparkly Fluff. All the teeth have some sparkle and are covered with Clear Sakura Glaze, so they looked embossed. I finally remembered to pick up more thread for my sewing machine, so I got it out and did some sewing too. I just love my little machine.

Supplies:

Stamps: Tooth Fairy Fun (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Regal Rose, Neenah White, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.
Other: Scallop Square Punch (SU!), Square Nesties, Dimensionals, Ribbon (SU!), Unibal White Gel Pen, Sakura Glear Glaze Pen, Sakura Stardust Pen, 3/4 inch Circle Punch, Sparkly Fluff, Janome Sew Mini, Scor-pal.

This is my first attempt at making a sketch.... I hope you like it. I can't wait to see what the girls did... check them out:

Happy Birthday From Drake!

Drake the Dragon and his friend that is. This one was super easy, but was super fun to color.

Now it's the boys' turn to have Strep. Man.... I'm so tired of this... have I told you that? Have you heard me screaming?

I have a lot to catch up on today, so I'm keeping it short. All the coloring is done with Copic Markers, atyou Spica Pens, and Sakura Glaze Pens. I used the chisel end of my BG10 for the sky. The paper is from My Mind's Eye, called Just Dreamy 2. The ribbon is from Stampin'Up!

Supplies:

Stamps: Drake the Dragon (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Neenah White, Chocolate Chip, My Mind's Eye.
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black, Copic Markers.
Other: Label One Nesties, Cuttlebug, atyou Spica Pens, Sakura Glaze Pen, Wide Chocolate Ribbon (SU!), Dimensionals,Eclipse Masking Tape, Scor-pal.

Hope you had a great weekend. As always, I appreciate your visit. :)

Color Throwdown Challenge

I was talking to my friend Kisa again (you say her name like Lisa, but with a K), and she was telling me about this cool blog called Color Throwdown. Have you heard of it? I don't have much computer time, so I miss a lot of cool stuff apparently. I had to go and check it out. She was right... it's very cool! I decided to play along... even though those colors were indeed a challenge for me!

I used the stamp set Children of the World drawn by my friend Joni. I was telling her that I couldn't even draw stick people and so she made this cute kids for us.

My favorite part of the card is the star on the litle boy's shirt. I colored it, then went over the top with my atyou Spica Pen, then covered it with Clear Sakura Glaze. It stands out and shines like crazy. You just gotta touch it.

Supplies:

Stamps: Children of the World (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: My Mind's Eye (Just Dreamy2), Tempting Turquoise, Eggplant Envy, Neenah White.
Ink: Memeto Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers, Craft Whisper White.
Other: Sakura Glaze, atyou Spica, Large and Small Star Punches (SU!), Long Rectangle Nesties, Cuttlebug, Scor-pal, Jody's Foam Dots, May Arts Ribbon.

Hope you have a great weekend... if you have some time to stamp, why don't you try the Color Throwdown Challenge? I can't wait to see what the colors are for next week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Weekend Sketch #72

Hey everyone! TGIF! This weekend's sketch is by Jenn Balcer.... I *KNEW* it was going to have flowers on it before I even saw it.... she's the queen.

This cute stamp set is called Get Well Hanna... by Hanna Stamps of course. I love her.... but she does looka little too gorgeous being sick right? She does remind me of my sweet Averie though. I love every stamp in this set... it's perfect for any person who is under the weather. TRUST me... I know under the weather lately. UGH.

I used Stampin'Up! punches for all the flowers. The designer paper is My Mind's Eye. I add sparkle and shine with both Sakura and atyou Spica pens, plus my all time favorite Sakura Clear Glaze. I popped up the rectangle piece with Jody's Foam Dots, and used the Long Rectangle and Label One Nestabilities.

Here's the sketch by Jenn:

And the rest of the sketch team.... I can't wait to see their creations with this fun sketch!

Fifth Avenue Floral

This set from Stampin'Up! is just beautiful! I have the decor elements for the walls too... I bought them for my Grandma's new house, but haven't decided where to put them yet.

It's really hard for me to make sympathy cards. I guess it's hard for everyone... I can imagine. I always feel so bad.... I know first hand that losing loved ones is one of the hardest things we have to deal with during our lives.

My Aunt lost her husband of 23 years. Although we didn't see them more than once or twice a year, I always enjoyed Brad. He was funny and sweet and was always
smiling. I know my Aunt is going to miss him terribly... and us too.

You are never going to believe this, but BOTH twins are home today sick! I'm seriously going to scream!

Okay.. I'm done screaming. Here's the recipe:

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Brighter Tomorrow
Paper: Soft Sky, Regal Rose, Soft Sky Designer Prints, Whisper White, Basic Grey.
Ink: Basic Grey, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.
Other: Shimmerz (Burgundy), Paint Brush, 1 3/4 inch Circle Punch (SU!), Circle Nesties, Scallop Nesties, Scallop Edge Punch (SU!), Taffeta Ribbon (SU!), Scor-pal.

Thanks for stopping by! See ya tomorrow for the weekend sketch by Jenn! :)

U Rock!

Love this little rocker! Her name is Star and she's a star indeed. :) See her freckles? She is SO much fun to color!

My friend Kisa is an amazing stamper! You saw her awesome Whispy Bloom cards during our release blog hop. Anyway, recently she has made some really awesome cards making her own backgrounds. Funny how you get used to grabbing designer paper. Of course it's easy to do when you've got it all over your desk (that's my excuse!). LOL.

So.... this is what I came up with... just cardst0ck! Super fun and super sparkly! I used the new and the older atyou Spica pens to add glitter everywhere, then added shine on top of that with my Clear Sakura Glaze pen.

Supplies:

Stamps: Star Rocks (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Neenah White, Pumpkin Pie, Riding Hood Red, Night of Navy (SU!).
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.
Other: atyou Spica Pens, Circle and Circle Scallop Nesties, This Way Punch (SU!), Uniball White Gel Pen, Jody's Foam Dots, Scor-Pal.

ROCK ON Stampers! LOL... have a great day!

Come Join the OCL Challenge!

Good morning Stampers! Hope you had a great weekend!

Last week, I received this awesome card from a fellow bloggin' friend. MADE MY DAY. Even after all my years of stamping, it continues to blows me away when I see a card in real life compared to a photo. I loved the way Denise did her layout and the wings are all glittery. Did you see it? So, I started thinking......

What a fun layout! You could use SO many different images with it. So, I asked Denise if I could "borrow" her layout and make a fun sketch challenge out of it!

So, here's the deal. Check out the challenge over at The Lounge, make a card, share the link and you will have a chance to win a stamp set of your choice, plus one jar of the new Sparkly Fluff from Our Craft Lounge! I hope you'll play along!

Supplies:

Stamps: Pat the Bad Dog, Dawg House (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: My Mind's Eye (Just Dreamy2), Baja Breeze, Neenah White.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.
Other: Multi Shaper Punch, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, Sakura Glaze Pens, Blue Brads (American Crafts), Ribbon (unknown), Jody's Foam Dots, Scor-Pal.

Have a great week everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi!

Just buzzin' by for a quick Hi today. I hope you are having a great weekend. Everyone has been healthy this weekend... even though I got a call from the school to come pick up Averie Friday morning. She had a stomach ache of all things! Yah, just add one more thing to the list! LOL... it only lasted for the day though, by evening she was back to her ole self. Whooo Hooo!

Love these cute little bugs. The paper is from My Mind's Eye called Irresistable. That strip across the bottom portion is actually the end strip/design on the designer paper. You know, the part you'd normally cut off before you use it? It made the perfect faux ribbon. :) The buttons are from Basic Grey and they coordinate with this paper perfectly.

The body of the bug is paper pieced. The wings are covered in Sparkly Fluff. Sparkly Fluff will be available end of the week... I think! We are SO close to having it ready for our site... I know some of it shipped out to retailers this weekend, so look for it at your favorite LSS and online stores! Thanks for your patience... I know you are going to LOVE it!

Supplies:

Stamps: Just Bugz (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Irresistable My Mind's Eye, Neenah White, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip.
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black, Copic Markers.
Other: Circle and Circle Scallop Nesties, Sakura Glaze Pens, Sparkly Fluff, Quickie Glue Pen, Sakura Stardust Pen, Basic Grey Buttons, Natural Hemp Twine (SU!), Earth Brads, Large Oval Punch, Chocolate Poly-Twill Ribbon (SU!), Jody's Foam Dots, White Uniball Pen, Scor-Pal.

Oh, just one more thing before you go.... I LOVE seeing what you do with OCL stamps. If you upload to SCS, please remember to add either OCL, or OurCraftLounge (no spaces), in the keyword section. I've missed a ton of really great cards because they either didn't have a keyword or you had spaces inbetween Our Craft Lounge. Thank you for sharing your work and for using OCL stamps! :)

Enjoy your Sunday!

Weekend Sketch #71

Happy Friday! This weekend's sketch is hosted by Sharon! Thanks for the fun sketch babe! Please hop on over to her blog for all the deets.

I must confess, it's late, my mojo is missing and I don't blame it.... if I could, maybe I'd be missing too! LOL. It's been a rough week at the Turnbow house. All the kids are on the bus this morning, I'm looking forward to the weekend.... and everyone being healthy! So Yeah Friday!

For the sketch this week, I chose the stamp set Flight of the Butterfly by Stampin' Up! The paper is by My Mind's Eye. I added some extra shazam with my Sakura Clear Glaze Pen to all the polka dots. I'm SO addicted to those pens!

Supplies:

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly (Stampin'Up!)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Barely Banana, Riding Hood Red.
Paper: My Mind's Eye (Just Dreamy2), Basic Black, Neenah White, Riding Hood Red.
Other: Rectangle Nesties, Crafter's Tool Kit, Word Window Punch, Black Gingham Ribbon, Sakura Clear Glaze Pen, atyou Spica Pen, Dimensionals, Sponge, Scor-pal.

Kiss Me Basket

One more little St. Patrick's Day project. This is another easy one... didn't take long at all to put together so that you can mass produce if you want to. It holds six Hershey Nuggets.

The basket pattern I found here. VERY cool huh? Very clear, easy to follow instructions... thanks so much for sharing this awesome little basket Claire!

I used the stamp set called Kiss Me, I'm Irish, by Our Craft Lounge. I spayed the nugget labels with my Copic Airbrush system. I used a light green, then used the brush tip with a darker green to leave little splat marks all over. I stamped the same border stamp on the labels (using black ink), then colored some of them in with ink, and some with the atyou Spica Pens.. so they shine and shimmer!

I added a scallop punch with the sentiment to the top of the handle and cute little four leaf clover flowers to each end. LOVE the gold atyou Spica pen! It really brought it all together to coordinate with the brushed gold cardstock I used for the liner of the basket and as a layer on the sentiment.

Supplies:

Stamps: Kiss Me, I'm Irish (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Garden Green, Brushed Gold, Neenah White.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers, Craft Whisper White.
Other: Circle Punches (Stampin'Up!), Scallop Punch (SU!), Scallop Border Punch (SU!), Brads (SU!), Crafter's Tool Kit, Long Rectangle Nesties, atyou Spica Pens, Address Labels, Copic Airbrush System, Scor-Pal.

Averie is feeling much better today. One more day home to get her energy and color back and then she can head to school to get her homework. Thank you for the well wishes. :)

See you tomorrow for the weekend sketch! Thanks for stopping by!
