Happy Friday! And... Happy Birthday to my sweet Averie Ann! Today, my baby turns 7! She is so excited to have a couple friends over at the cabin and a little party on Saturday at the lake. I can hardly believe seven years have passed. Someone make it slow down!

While at CHA, I ran into my sweet friends Meridith and Tricia from Lizzie Anne Designs. Those two girls are the sweetest! I miss being on their design team! Have you seen their new sets? Weekend Sketch #70

Hi everyone! I can't believe it's Friday.. this week went by SO fast. We've been sick again... well, not really sick, but plagued by constant coughing. Almost everyone is on antibiotics now, so I hope over the weekend, we'll all get some peace and finally kick this cough!

This weekend's sketch is by Lori. I love it! Thanks Lori! I'm going to make more cards over the weekend using this sketch. I used the stamp set called Blissful Blossoms by Lizzie Anne Designs. I also used my all time favorite scrappin kit from Stampin' Up! called Crew Kids (Girl). I'm really determined to use up some of my designer paper... before it over takes my stampin space. I'm not buying anymore paper until I can use up some I already have... at least half. Sounds like a deal huh? *wink*

Gizmos and Gears

Good afternoon stampers! sorry I'm so late today with a post. Better late than never though... right? Another busy day here at the Turnbow house. :)

This cute set is by Lizzie Anne Designs called Gizmos and Gears.... I love those gears! The paper is from the Just Dreamy 2 line by My Mind's Eye. I stamped some gears in the circles with the stamp set on the designer paper.

The robot is stamped with ColorBox chalk ink... it's called Lime I think. I added my favorite Dot Stickers by Stampendous in blue to add some Shazam! Along with, of course, my Sakura glitter and Glaze pens.





I will be back later this evening to list all the supplies. I'm going to take my Grandma to see The Secret Life of Bees movie. My sweet Aunt sent money and asked me to take her on her behalf. What a thoughtful thing to do huh? Now I get to go too! My Grandma loved the book, then sent it to my Aunt. My friend Keri sent me the book when I had back surgery, but I haven't read it yet! Dang it.. now I need to read it. Anyway, I'll be back later.

Blingz'd Bot

Oh yah baby... nothing like a shimmery Robot... or should I say Blingz'd Robot? Love this set from Lizzie Anne Designs called Gizmos and Gears. The inside says Happy Birthday. It comes with two robots, one solid and one not... so I could not resit paper peicing parts of her.

The metal dot (the big one) came in a package given to me by a dear friend (thanks QC baby... who loves me). They are made by Colorbok. The other metal stickers are from Heidi Grace. The beautiful paper is from Basic Grey... it came all together in a huge package... even had the cool rick rack ! I LOVE it!



Can you see the Blingz? I used the new Wintergreen Blingz over the top of the main body which I had colored first with Copic G02. I added some dots with my Sakura Black Glaze pen and the clear over that for the eyes.

Blingz Up The Holidays

Did you head over to Shimmerz to check out the new product? Oh, how I love the new Blingz!! There are five new colors... Pink Poinsettia, Spiced Cider, December Sky, Wintergreen, and Gold Glimmer. You can probably guess which is my favorite (wink).

If you haven't been over to Shimmerz, you are missing out on a ton of really pretty ideas and projects by the design team.

I used Pink Poinsettia Blingz along with the Spiced Cider for the center of the flowers. I let it dry (which doesn't take long), then added some dots in the center with my Sakura Black Glaze Pen. Talk about an easy card. Easy is good during the holidays right?

The photos do not do Blings justice. It's totally beautiful. :)

Hey everyone! Wow, it's Friday again, and another week went by with no posts from me... I'm so sorry. If it's not one thing, it's another for us lately. Yesterday we spent the day in Eugene where my oldest son went through allergy testing. He is allergic to grass, dust mites and household dust. So, now we know what's setting him off and hopefully we have his meds right so that he can quit missing school. Poor kid. Allergies are horrible! No one in my family has ever had them, so this is all new to us. Yah, DUST... can you believe that? So much for letting my pile get so bad you can write in it. And, so much for having him do dusting as a chore! How bad is that for Mom?

Hey everyone! TGIF! It's been a long week and I'm ready for the weekend. The kids are home today from school for a In Service day, so it will be a long weekend too. One of my twins was really sick this week, so I didn't get a lot done at my stampin desk. Baby Gift Box

I saw this cute little box on SUDSOL, shared by Paula Geoff. It is one of Jody Morrow's creations. Jody,( some of you know her as TexasJodyLynn), is my stampin IDOL. Love her, love all she does. If you haven't been to visit her blog, you are missing out! Visit her over at Confessions of a Ribbon Addict. Be prepared to have your socks knocked off ... you've been warned. :)

I changed it a bit. You can see a tutorial written by Jody Morrow here. (Thanks Jody!) I cut my card stock 6x 11 and scored the 11 inch side at 4.5 and 6.5 with the Scor-Pal. Then I flipped the cardstock so that the six inch side is at the top of my Scor-pal and scored at 1.5 and 4.5. I then slid it into my Friskers cutter and cut on the score line from the top of the 6 inch side down to the center score line. I did that on each score line for a total of four times. Then, I slid the 11 inch end into my friskers again and cut off two inches of the flaps we just made. I then used my Scallop Edge punch and centered it along the ends to make the ends pretty.Fold and glue. I made the slots at the top of the box with my Word Window punch and then added a Kaiser Rhinestone to one of the clippies in the Stampin'Up! Clip assortment pack and clipped it closed.

I used the Flower Power and Baby Carriage stamp singles from Lizzie Anne Designs. This came together super easy and fast. I added some shazam to the carriage with Bubble Gum and Magenta Shimmerz Paint.

Birds of a Feather

One more card made with the set L'Amour. Don't you just love the sweet face on this bird? I love the heart swirly background and the hearts on her tail too. The heart tucked under her wing and the one on the ground are actually the wings from the butterfly in the set stamped onto the Chatterbox designer paper, then cut out. I took a craft knife and made a little slit above her wing to tuck one in. The bird is colored with Copic Marker Y21. I added the light spots with the Copic Blending Pen. The sentiment is raised up on Dimensionals. I also added Beeswax Shimmerz Paint to the hearts on her tail and the flowers on the hearts.

Today was the first day with the new bus schedule. The kids had to be ready to catch the bus at 7:17. We live less than five minutes from the school..... it's CRAZY. I could see them being on the bus that long if we lived out of town. I predict, there will be a lot of "missed the bus" days.

L'Amour

Okay, so my friend Pine has me on a Kraft cardstock kick. I got it out because I ordered her new stamp set and HAD to use Kraft with it, now I can't put it away.

This stamp set is from Lizzie Anne Designs... one of my very favorite stamp companies. :) It's called L'Amour. Those girls are SO awesome at putting together great sets. They always have a nice variety of stamps and sentiments so that your creativity has no limits. I think besides floral sets, my next weakness is sets with hearts. LOVE that butterfly with the heart wings.

September is a really difficult month for me and my family. So, even though I look forward to fall and the kids going to school and the crisp fresh air, there is also a sickness in the pit of my stomach that brings back really difficult memories. I lost my sister in a car accident... she was killed on the 7th and her birthday was the 10th. It's been 18 years now, and although the pain isn't an every day feeling anymore, it always seems to come back with a vengeance in September when I can really feel the hole in my heart and the big void space that she left in my life. I have very dear friend, who also suffered a huge loss this week last year. Her pain is still very fresh. My heart breaks for her. I know what a struggle it is to seem normal to others when you feel like you are broken to pieces inside. I'm sending her this card with a hug just to let her know that I am thinking of her and I love her and I wish I could take away some of her pain.

Witching You a Happy Halloween

I love this Lizzie Witch! Have you see all the little people? They are adorable and so cool to color!

I've had so much fun making the little designer box in a bag, then I saw that my friend Val from Cal, made an even tinier version... which would be PERFECT for little Halloween treats. You can see the tutorial here. And these are the new dimensions by Valerie (thanks Val!):

2 1/2 x 2 1/2" square of card stock
3" x 6 1/2" piece of patterned paper
3/8" x 6 1/2" strip of scalloped card stock.

The only difference between this mini version and the regular size version is the score lines for the box portion. Score the 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of card stock 1/2" on all sides. The rest of the directions are the same for adhering the box/bag together.

I love my friend Val.... in case you didn't know. If you haven't been to her blog, you're missing out. LOVE her work too! Thanks for sharing your brilliance my friend.

The little tag is shrinky dinked. It was just a bit too big for my little bag, so I stamped it on shrink plastic,punched it out with my Marvy Oval Scallop Punch, and shot it with my embossing gun. The box is held closed with the new little clippies from Stampin' Up!'s new Clip Assortment! I'm totally diggin those new clips.....

Welcome Baby....

How sweet is this little carriage? I can't ever use my Kraft card stock without thinking of my friend Pinie. She does amazing things with Kraft card stock. I always feel like I'm CASE'ing her just by using it! LOL.

I stamped the Flower Power single from Lizzie Anne Designs with White Craft Ink for the background. The pink background is one of the new Cuttlebug folders. I inked up the folder with Craft Ink, then sandwiched in the card stock and then ran it through my Cuttlebug. So, it's hard to see, but part of that background is white too. The carriage was stamped with Ranger Distress Black Soot ink, then colored in with my aquapainter and craft ink. I let it dry, thed added Bubble Gun, and Angel Wings Shimmerz Paint.



I also used the new Cuttlebug Border strip for the little buttons, and the Sizzix Button Die for the big button across the top layered Pink Piroutte Ribbon.

Garden Isle

Oh, how I love this sweet hula girl from Lizzie Anne Designs. Doesn't it just scream summer... fun.... sunshine? Makes me want to be on a beach with a drink in my hand!

I did all the coloring with Copic markers. I masked her with Eclipse Masking tape and made the sky and sand with the airbrush system. I cut little slits in the card stock and inserted the surf boards. Everything has an extra shazam with Shimmerz Paint. I used the colors celery, Royal Red, Sky Blue, and Angel Wings. The little tag in the corner is a piece of card stock that I painted with Shimmerz Angel Wings, let dry, then stamped Mahalo, then cut out with a punch. Here is a close up of all the shimmer and shine.

Can you see it now? LOL. It's really like nothing I've used before and the more I play, the more I LOVE this stuff!

Hula Box in a Bag

I can't help myself, these bags are so much fun to make! Again, I'm using up the last bit of paper from the A Shore Thing line by Imaginisce. You can't see in the photo, but there is glitter and embossing all over the paper and the hula girl has a matching glitterfied skirt, thanks to Shimmerz celery paint.

Rockin' Holiday

Look at that Santa's beard! I love him.... he's so rolly polly. This is the last sneak peek of the week. I have to say, that I LOVE this Christmas set. The sentiments are perfect and like all the LAD sets, it has lots of stamps so it gives you tons of options to make different cards and scrap pages.

Santa's beard is covered with Cotton Ball White Fun Flock, the tree has Liquid Pearl bulbs, and the stockings have Liquid Appliqué fur tops! I think adding all the little details is the best, most fun part! I also used my Sakura Glaze pens and my atyou Spica Glitter pens... of course you can never quite capture that glitter on camera. The designer paper is from the Heidi Grace Jolly & Bright line. The card stock is from Prism.
