Pick a Petal Bella Rose

Good afternoon stampers! I didn't have much time to play today. I'm busy getting ready for the weekend. I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already, AND August! Summer is flying by.... indeed. :)

I have to admit this card is almost completely CASE'd by an awesome card I saw in the Pick a Petal Gallery at SCS stamped by DJLuvs2stamp. I loved it so much I decided to make a version with the new Bella Rose Designer Paper and the new IN Colors from Stampin'Up!.

The Recipe:

Stamps: Pick a Petal, All Holidays.
Paper: Baja Breeze Textured, Riding Hood Red, Bella Rose Designer Paper.
Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black.
Other: Poly Twill Olive Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, In Color buttons, Dimensionals, DMC Thread, Janome Sew Mini, Scor-Pal.

Hula Hanna Sneak Peek

Aloha friends! Hanna is doing the hula! Well, she is on Friday when you can get the newest Hanna releases! Look at that coconut drink...... it's making me thirsty! I love the flowers around her ankles and wrists.... too cool.

I just love this designer paper from Imaginisce called A Shore Thing. I think it's my very last piece. You can't see in the photo but the paper has glitter on it too. In fact, the green glitter on the paper matches her skirt perfectly. How did you do that you ask? *snort*




I got an email from my friend (and dirty girl past) Lila Holgate telling me that I HAD to try this new glitter paint. She knows how much I like to glitterize. She told me they had numerous shades of pink.... well, DANG, talk about pushing my buttons. How could I resist numerous shades of pink glitter? Of course I had to check it out and get me some! She wasn't kidding when she said they had a ton of colors! You'd be proud, I narrowed it down to only TWO shades of pink. I got some other colors too. So, on Hanna's skirt is the celery Shimmerz and on the flowers I added the Magenta Shimmerz. Fun stuff! I just sqeeze out the water on the tip of my aquapainter and dip it in the lid of the paint. It dries fast and has a glittery shine like SHAZAM! Watch out... Cams has new glitter... in various shades to boot!!

Ink: Ranger Distress Soot Black, Copic Markers.

Hanna Halloween Sneak Peek!

Too cute! Look at the scarecrow! He's part of a new mini Halloween set available Friday from Hanna Stamps! You are going to love all the new releases on Friday. I had a hard time deciding which set to open first.

I colored him in with Copic Markers and added the dark dusky sky with the chisel end of the marker. Love that bat.

I added some sparkle with a new product called Shimmerz. It comes in a ton of colors and you just paint it on and it dries fast too. I used the coffee brown with my aquapainter all over the straw portion. Adds a nice touch... glitter always adds the perfect touch... don't ya think?



I'm out the door again.. off to swimming lessons this afternoon. I will pop back in later and post the full recipe.

Designer Bags

I think I first saw these cute little bags from someone on SUDSOL, but I'm not sure. I know there are a ton of tutorials and you've probably already seen them, but I promised my stampin girls that I'd write a one for them.

These bags were our other project at my workshop last weekend. If you know who originally came up with this idea, please let me know and I'll link to that person. Thanks to whoever came up with this fun project... I love these bags! They are VERY easy to make. Edited: Okay, thanks girls, it is Judy Miller...she shared this bag back in April of 2007! The original idea came from Martha Stewart. :) Thanks Judy!!!

What you need:

One 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of card stock.
One 5 1/2 x 11 piece of designer paper.
One 1.5 x 11 inch piece of designer paper.
Scor-Tape
Round Tab Punch
Crop-a-dile, Large Eyelets
Scallop Edge Scissors or punch
Whatever you want to decorate your bag with.



Cut your card stock for the bottom of your bag 4 1/2 x 4 1/2, then score along each edge at 1 inch.















Cut on on two sides on the score lines to make little tabs for your box.














Add adhesive to the tabs to make your box.














Cut your designer paper 5 1/2 x 11. Add Scor-Tape along one long side and one short side. You put the tape on the side of the paper that you want to be in the inside of your bag.









Peel the liner off the tape from the long side only. Start your box half way off the edge with the bottom of the box lined up with the bottom of your paper. Press down on the inside of your box.









Continue to roll your box along the edge making sure that you press down on the inside each rotation so that you get a nice adhere job. Is that a word? Adhere job? LOL.











When you get to the last rotation, peel off the short side of the tape liner and carefully adhere the last side.









You will need one more strip of designer paper or card stock for the finishing touch of your bag. Cut this piece any width you want by 11 inches. You can decorate the edge with scallop scissors or a scallop punch. Add either Scor-Tape, or Snail Adhesive to the back side.










Start at the back of your bag near the seam and adhere to the bottom one side at a time.
















Add your tabs for the top, and decorate as you please. I used the big flower from Stampin'Up!'s Pretties Kit for the front of this one. I used the 3/4 inch circle punch to add a piece of coordinating designer paper for the center and then stuck in through the bag with a Rhinestone brad (that comes in the Pretties Kit). The possibilities are endless. Easy Peasy!








We had a blast making these at our workshop.... I love seeing how everyone added their own little touch to each bag. What a fun little gift bag!

A Beautiful Thing

Hi everyone... sorry for the week of non posting. It seems I caught a bug and just when I thought I was feeling better, it would knock me down again. I can't seem to get my energy back. Of course, it's hard to find energy when we are constantly on the run right?

Heard From The Heart

Good Saturday morning everyone. As I try to not completely break down and sob, holding back my pout, because all my friends are at CHA, I look forward to spending the day with my stampin girls at a workshop! It's the only thing that's getting me through... I get to stamp with my girls baby!! I'll post our projects later today.

Hanna Challenge #26

Whoo Hooo! I made a Hanna Challenge Card. Christmas in July today baby! Check out the SCS member forum here for the challenge. I love this sketch from design team member Frances... thanks girl! The challenge is the sketch, but you get bonus points if you make it a Christmas card! :)

Can you believe I only have one big circle punch? I need to get the circle Nesties. I thought since this circle was a little small it needed the ribbon on the side. The paper is from Heidi Grace.... I LOVE her paper! The card stock is Prism... love that card stock too. One side is textured and the other is smooth.... brilliant.

Rockin' Holiday

Look at that Santa's beard! I love him.... he's so rolly polly. This is the last sneak peek of the week. I have to say, that I LOVE this Christmas set. The sentiments are perfect and like all the LAD sets, it has lots of stamps so it gives you tons of options to make different cards and scrap pages.

Santa's beard is covered with Cotton Ball White Fun Flock, the tree has Liquid Pearl bulbs, and the stockings have Liquid Appliqué fur tops! I think adding all the little details is the best, most fun part! I also used my Sakura Glaze pens and my atyou Spica Glitter pens... of course you can never quite capture that glitter on camera. The designer paper is from the Heidi Grace Jolly & Bright line. The card stock is from Prism.
