Fresh corn cob on grill,
Recipe: Cut both ends of cob to remove silk and stub. Dip in bowl of tap water, sprinkle with your favorite herbs, and roll tight in heavy Reynolds warp. Place in freezer over night. We buy a bushel @ time, share with friends and when we get ready to grill we take out what we need place on grill frozen and 10 mins on each side. Yahoo! Fresh corn on cob, we love it all year long. PS we live in North East Florida so we grill a lot. Love your work, thank you for sharing. Hugs, Ruth

My favorite summertime food is grilled corn on the cob. You have to soak it over night in a mixture of salt, sugar, & water and then grill for about 5 minutes on each side. Yum Yum!!

Wow 206 comments. Thanks for the chance to win and some great recipes to boot! I guess poeples fav foods depend on where in North America they are. I am in Toronto. Summer starts here with strawberries and peas at the end of June. Strawberry picking on the Canada Day weekend is a fav. Al lot of commom fav though, seasonal fruits and vegs, BBQ ed meats ect. My family likes picnics and on those picnics, stuffed ribs-cold. Boil your ribs, make a clissic stage stuffing mix, lay one rack down, stuffing the another rack. Tie with string. Wrap in foil, cook on the BBQ or oven. Then let cool. Sooo good cold! Yum.

My favorite summer (and winter, to be honest)is Custard. Here in Wisconsin they make Custard that is like ice cream but is MUCH richer and more smooth I'd never had it before I moved here. A place called Culver's has a great flavor called Turtle. MMMMMMMMM, so good and so fattening!

I love grilled veggies. I cut them up, wrap them up in tin foil add a little seasoning, lemon, and butter. Throw them on the grill for about 20 minutes and they are done!!

My favorite summer food is made with garden fresh tomatoes and fresh basil... we call it 'Pasta w/tomatoes and basil' which is not very original! While cooking 8 oz any type pasta, finely chop 4 to 5 skinned plum tomatoes and set aside. Finely chop 8 to 10 large basil leaves and 1-2 cloves gralic and set aside. Drain pasta and return to pot. Add some olive oil and all the other ingredients and put a lid on pot and let it stand 5 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and enjoy!

I LOVE Strawwberry shortcake in the summer with fresh strawberries. Except not my sister's, she always botches it and makes it too dry. Shhhhh;)

We also love to bbq in the summer. I made some delicious hamburgers on July 4-had rave reviews from the family. It's called an all-in-one burger-recipe from Cooks Country magazine:
1 1/2 lbs ground round (85% lean)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
8 strips cooked bacon-chopped fine
4 tsps yellow mustard
2 tsp worcestershire
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

mix together all ingredients with a fork.
divide mixture evenly and lightly pack into 4 patties-about 1" thick.
grill 8 to 12 minutes over hot fire-don't press down on burgers. Recipe recommends cooking these ones through-they taste better.

Look forward every day to see what Cami has created - you're such a TALENTED stamper!

Since I'm dieting, I've been focused on creating a low-fat smoothie. Just discovered - duh - that there is non-fat frozen yogurt (I'm an ice cream kinda gal!)! In blender:

1 C orange juice
handful of frozen raspberries
1 banana
couple spoonfuls of yogurt
ice cubes
BLEND!

Very refreshing and good for you, too!
Thanks for all you do!

My favorite summertime food is any fresh fruits or veggies. Nothing can beat a hot dog roasted over an open fire though. And no summer would be complete without smores.
