BLOG CANDY!!!!

Okay.... so like, three months ago, I didn't even know what the heck blog candy was! I thought it was just pretty cards that people shared. My two B friends.... that's Bev and Beate, have been telling that I NEED to give blog candy. You know Beate is DA BOMB of the candy and the whole thing just kind freaks me out because I'm always scared no one will want whatever it is I find to give as "candy". BUT.... as I was looking through my drawers and trying to find things that weren't sent to me by my loving friends who take pity on me being craft store deprived, (because that stuff is MINE and special and never to be given away.. or maybe even ever used because it's just "special".... that is my excuse for hoarding.. just go with it), I found a 7 Gypsies bracelet that I bought from Starlitstudios, some ribbon I got from (I think) Jo-Anns, some pearly brads from Oriental Trading Co., some jeweled brads from my trip to Target in WI, some sparkly PINK chipboard shapes also from my visit to WI (that was my first trip to Archivers!!), some scrapbook charms and page pebble stickers!! Whew.... Now, I KNOW you'll at least want the bracelet because it's WAY cool. All you need is a 5/8 inch circle punch and you can put designer paper, photos, whatever you want in the bracelet. I have two and I LOVE them.

Now, I am not knowledgeable about hits and points and clicks or whatever it is, but I know that WAY more people have come to visit than I ever thought would want to visit. I know that you all make my days with your nice comments and emails and it's time for me to say thank you!! So, how about even if you don't want the candy, you pretend. LOL. Deal? And, just know I appreciate each comment and email greatly. I feel like my daughter when she gets a bag of hand me downs from her cousins.... she goes around all day saying "I'm SO lucky". Well, I feel SO lucky to have so many great friends and stampers who visit, comment, or just come to peek in. THANK YOU!!!

Now.. for the question. I'm such a dork.... we are painting the house. Well, I should say, my husband is painting the house. I am THE worst at picking those colors from those little chips. We got the living room done, and believe it or not, I think I'm going to like it. But... I (as in pick the paint) need to do the family room. So.. here is the question. What is your favorite color of interior paint for your living room, family room and hallways? Just leave me a comment and you'll have a chance to win. HA! I know.. not even stamp related. Told ya I am a dork. :)

I'll do the random picker thing on Sunday night and announce the winner on Monday, April 23rd. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I love the deep brown colors that seem to be the rage right now.
Love the blog candy but visit for the great inspiration!! Thanks for sharing your talent.

First of all, I love your blog, I get great inspiration here. Second, my walls are a cream colored right now. I went with a cranberry color for several years, now back to a neutral color and love it.

Oh, I love to paint and recently painted my entire house. The upstairs hallway is -- get ready --orange and terricota. I don't know how I did it, but I stood on a ladder and did the 12 foot walls with smooshed plastic to give a faux finish. Beautiful. The hallway downstairs is a yellow-green. Fresh and crisp. Good luck with your decision!

I painted my rectangle living room long walls, Bronze Glow and short walls, Apple Butter. Halls and Kitchen were painted Bulgur Wheat and the name brand was Kilz. This brand is a little more expensive but well worth the price as it covers well and goes on like butter! I got mine at Wal-Mart but you can get it at most local hareware stores. The reason I used two different colors is because the room was long and narrow and it added much character and dimension. You can do this in other rooms as well. These colors are a little on the darker side but not like browns or the red family. I was preparing the house for my husband coming home from Iraq in February and wanted more masculine type colors but I liked them because they reminded me of sunflower colors as well. I had to move while he was in Iraq and he had not seen the "new" home! He loved it! Happy Painting!

I live in an apartment right now, but my in-laws recently painted their living room taupe and it looks really nice! Awesome blog candy!

it is so much fun changing a room's color. I painted a livingroom green once. Everyone commented on how wonderful it "felt".. then Behr retired the color. I spent 2 years looking for that same exact green ("it's not easy being green") I finally found it. now if I could only figure out which room to paint it with.... janet in nc

I redid a couple of walls last year and I'm so happy with the results. I used two shades of mossy/celery green and used one of those textured double-roller thingies. You can blend the colors as much as you want so that you get a lot of contrast or a more subdued effect. I went for a more blended look and it looks kinda like suede.

Cambria, I love your blog. I took cardstock samples to my local paint store to get the colors I wanted. I painted the bottom half of the walls Perfect Plum and the top half Pale Plum. I then stamped a fence in white along the dividing line. The I stampe dflowers, leaves and vines along the fence. Of course as soon as I was about finished, the retired list came out and every set I had used was on the list. But I still love it.

I love colors that are bright and make me happy. People who come to visit either LOVE it or hate it. Like a white castle hamburger, there is no in between :)! I love whimsically decorated rooms!

Our living roon is a golden yellow color, our family room and hallways are just a shade off (family is darke than hallways), which is a pebble..brownish color. We did neutrals so that if we wanted to change furniture color, etc we wouldn't have to paint again. Good luck picking out colors...go with what you like!

I'd love to paint mine a sahara sand. When we re-do our house this summer (as in gut the entire place) that's what it's going to be!

I always used to be scared of colors and had my house painted pretty much beige. But I have overcome the fear and went with real colors when we moved last. My living room is a warm yellowish color. It was from the Eddie Bauer collection at Lowe's. I have this same color in my kitchen/dining area paired with a red below the chair rail. It was so nice to overcome the fear of color. I can always paint it beige when I decide to sell the house if I think others will not like it. I have white trim all over the house too. Hope I win your awesome candy!!

I am currently doing mine in Cocoa with tan & aqua accents. Have fun!

I really like sage green. I also like terracota doe as a Venetian plaster technique so that you get light and darks and texture.

I love a "summer sun" color with antique white trim. There is just something about yellow that lifts my mood!

Cami, I would suggest taupe. When we redo the LR I hope to use that color. My thinking is that then everything will match and it's less work to change accessories than wall color. Ü

We did our living room and dining room in a taupe. It's neutral enough to go with almost any color, and yet it's got more pizazz than just white or off-white.
Good luck!

Funny, I was looking at som paint combinations in my Canadian Living magazine the other day and I love the desert combinations. Taupes and browns with orange and green accents.

We like nice deep paint colors though. In my last house our living room was a deep blue and our kitchen had and orange wall and our bedroom was red. That's the fun thing about paint. It is not too expensive so you can do it one way for a while and if you get tired of it, change it up.

I'm thinking celery or even a little brighter or a creamy caramel shade of Khaki.

I love, love, love rich mocha (deep intense color!) AND crisp white trim!

Our media room is an apple green...fresh with white trim & furni.

Hallway is mocha.

Great blog candy! I love a new touch up. My family room is a light taupe color which compliments my muted red patterned area rug. Accent pillows on the sofa and window treatments make it warm and inviting. Good luck with your room.

I don't have a favorite color. My house is all white. I'm too chicken to start painting. Good luck to you (and to me;)) Thanks for the candy. Sandra Lew-Moll

My husband is a dry wall contractor and he likes....off white! says all the nice homes have that. So that's what we have. But....I love my dusty very pastel almost carribean/teal blue in my computer room. It makes all my woodwork which has a reddish look to it stand out. And the rug is just a shade darker. Pick a color in your rug and it should be fine!

I like egg shell. Colors are in at the moment, but I'd rather the furniture stand out, rather than the walls.

We are in the process of looking for a house in our new town. I can't wait to paint! I think I would choose the beige/mocha neutral colors for the living room. I would love a deep red for the dining room. Have to find the house first! Good luck choosing your colors.

We recently repainted our kitchen/great room area to go with a remodel. The walls are a beautiful, soft cream which goes well with my new Tuscan decor. Love the relaxing feel of the rooms now.

I always go for the pastel colors as they are so relaxing. We are painting our kitchen and dining room and hallway a soft blue called a Hint of Blue.

Oh Boy, everyone has such wonderful ideas! I would say look at the color of your furniture and accents in your rooms and try to match them. I am not a home interior decorator at all and am VERY color challenged. My walls are all white because I figured it goes with everything. I hope when we move that I will have fun doing exactly what you are doing right now...picking colors and decorating. I have seen some craft rooms painted in the certainly celery color and thought it was beautiful. But if you have a blue chair that might not work well with what you need. Good luck on your color choices. You have a TON of wonderful advice from many here.

I LOVE your blog candy and am keeping my fingers crossed that you pick my name. Smiles, Maria

I chose a warm neutral for my living room, hall and dining room. They are all open to each other so I painted all the same. The trick I used was that I painted the trim using a satin finish, the walls (flat) 50% of the same color and the ceiling (flat) 75% of the color.
I'm getting ready to go darker but will use the same blending formula.

Just spin the SU color wheel.
That will be your color to choose.

Good luck.

I am just in LOVE with your blog. I am so happy a friend sent me this. You do an AWESOME job and I could case just about everything you have done. Really great work!
My color for my living room is light olive green. I just think it looks so pleasing to the eye. Have a great weekend!

My living room colour is called "Louisburg Green" by Benjamin Moore. It made a very dramatic change when we painted. I have cream coloured trim as well. I really love it! It is also seen by my hallway which is painted "Bleaker Beige" and by my kitchen which is just the darkest shade on the Louiseburg Green paint chip. Good Luck!

Our current house is all white, but I've been a'thinking about painting (my husband is going to leave, I just know it. He hates to paint! )and would like to use a soft sage green. Our last house we painted buttered popcorn, a warm white with white trim and I loved it.

I love new paint! My husband and I always seeem to pick earth tones, we just painted our living room a color called peanut butter and it's by Behr. I love it...it matches with old olive, cranberry crisp, really rust, chocolate chip and resembles creamy caramel...LOL. I love it!

I don't have a painted living room, but sometimes I think a close match to Bashful Blue would be nice and soothing.

I usually have each room a different color but within the same family/shade. Sage green is my fave right now.

Taupe. I have taupe all through my home. It makes it feel warm and cozy. Plus, if you get bored with the decor, you just change out the throw pillows and blankets for another color and VOILA! you have a different look!

Hi Cambria,
My favorite family room color... well it depends on what color your furniture is. But offhand I'd say a nice close to cocoa. Or maybe a nice sage green. That works great. I also like the idea of painting one wall a contrasting color (like wine w/the cocoa).

HTH!

I Love a deep gold (mustard style not glitz style) with a rich cream trim. I did my living room in this combo and it is so calming. I just love chilling in there it just radiates peace. My furniture is a olive green and seems to go well with the tone of gold. Try picking out the colors you use the most on the cards that you truly love the colors you are drawn to and they are what is soothing to you. You will be surprised the color combos we keep going back to in crafting are the ones we find most comforting.

Wow wonderful blog candy! Be sure to let us know what colors you ended up with! I'd choose either Sage Green/Seafoam green or Cafe Latte cream color.

I am planning to paint my family room Mellow Moss! Even took a piece of card stock to the store with me to match it up!

Mine is a deep burgandy and I just love it!! You have to have a pretty good sized room to pull it off but its worth it!!

I know you have already had MANY great suggestions, and I have never looked at a blog or responded to one, but I am doing the same thing and I have a suggestion for you. I have never gone wrong when I get a paint color from Restoration Hardware. My entire interior is painted with 3 or 4 different shades from there and I decided to go with their Latte for my house, I have yet to decide on the trim. And just so you know you can have their colors matched at a local paint store-the RH prices are too high. And they don't do exterior paint anyway. I am always complemented on my room colors and they have a large variety. You can even buy small tester paints on their website! Hope it helps!
