Going Gourmet

Man, yesterday was one of THOSE days... everything that could go wrong did! Sorry for the late post, but hey, I finally got to it. My dryer decided to be a pain and stop drying my clothes... maybe because I was SO far behind in laundry I overworked it? I don't know, but thank goodness for my handy dandy husband. A few new parts and we are drying again! I think three more loads and I might just have it all off the floor! That is bad.. I know, but hey, I'm working on it...but it just keeps coming! :)

This is a set called Going Gourmet. Do you know what Salud means? I didn't, although I'd heard people say it when they toasted. I guess it's Spanish and it means the same as "cheers" or "good health". The lower portion of the card isn't designer paper. I stamped the border grape and swirl stamp that comes with the set, then smooshed my Riding Hood Red ink pad all over in a circular motion. IRL it looks like suede.

From one of my readers.... thanks Gabriela!

Salud is Spanish for "Health". When toasting, we just say "Salud" meaning "to your health", but without all the extra words. Salud is also commonly used by politically correct Spanish speakers to wish someone good health after they sneeze, as opposed to saying "Jesus te ayude" (Jesus help you) which in English is loosely (and incorrectly) translated as "God bless you".

Supplies:

Stamps: Going Gourmet (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Neenah White, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Prism Yellow.
Ink: Distress Ranger Soot Black, Copic Markers
Other: Vintage Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit, Nesties, Cuttlebug, Riding Hood Red (edges colored with my Copic Marker).

Thanks for stopping by!

The card is so elegant! Just beautiful. Anyway, I know this is WAY more than you ever wanted to know about the word Salud, but there you have it. Your card is gorgeous! Salud!

Beautiful card, and thank you for the info...I always thought that "Salud" meant "salute". And as for the laundry, I feel your pain! I don't mind the cleaning, the cooking, or any of the other chores, but I just don't enjoy the laundry. I don't even remember what the bottom of our hampers look like!

I love the colors you used. Very elegant. I am very familiar with the "smooshing" technique. :)
