YESTERDAY was Wednesday Blog Candy.... DUH!

Sorry about that.... I totally spaced it was Wednesday YESTERDAY... that Monday holiday threw me off big time!

This week's blog candy is the eP exclusive set from Stampendous called Hey There Cupcake! There will also be some extra goodies, but I don't have them photographed... trust me, you will like. :)

I LOVE this set...... it's AWESBOMB indeed. Look at the options for cupcakes. I've been swamped making swap cards, but I'll put together my cupcake cards this weekend. LOVE this set... hope you do too.

Leave a comment, any comment. Of course recipes are ALWAYS appreciated. In fact, I've tried a few and SHAZAM, they are winners. I'll share those later next week, but you can check out the previous blog candy comments to get some GREAT recipes. Thanks so much for sharing girls!! Thanks too for helping me celebrate my one year Blogaversary!

Have a super day! I'll draw a winner from Random.org on Sunday. :)

What a great give-away - that's a very cute stamp set. Unfortunately, no recipe from me as I'm at work & don't cook often enough to have any recipes memorized :)

Congrats on your blog anniversary! I have been baking 4 batches of cupcakes for my DD's 10th birthday! We added an ice cream cone on top before cooking them and turned them into ice cream cone cupcakes! I love the design of this set - although I've had my fill of baking them! Stamping them would be more up my alley!

That set is sooooo cute! I just love cupcakes. We even had cupcakes for my DH and I when we got married. We got married in Vegas so we wanted something easy that the guests could take with them when they left. ;) You have got to try www.kraftfoods.com they have some really easy recipes that my family just loves. I like them because you can add or delete any item that you like or dislike. Tonight I am making:
Parmesan Garlic Chicken
1/2C grated parmesan cheese
1 envelope Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
1/2 tsp garlic powder
4-6 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 2 lbs)
Preheat oven to 400*F
Moisten chicken w/water & coat with cheese and dressing mix
Bake 20 to 25 min or until chicken is cooked thru

Fabulous candy! Here's a recipe for you - Sesame Chicken. I make this a lot - I got it from one of those recipe websites. Yum!

Ingredients
3 boneless chicken breasts
Marinade
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 tablespoon cooking wine or dry sherry
3 drops sesame oil
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Sauce
1/2 cup water
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup white vinegar or rice wine vinegar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon chili paste (or more)
1 garlic clove (minced)

peanut oil for frying (3 1/2-4 cups)
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (optional)
1. Cut the chicken into 1-inch cubes. Mix the marinade ingredients (the first 9 ingredients listed) and marinate the chicken for 20 minutes.

To prepare the sauce, mix together all of the sauce ingredients (the LAST 9 ingredients beginning with water). Pour them into a small pot and bring to a boil, stirring continuously. Turn the heat down to low and keep warm while you are deep-frying the chicken.

To deep-fry the chicken, add the marinated chicken pieces a few at a time into hot oil and deep-fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Just before you are finished deep-frying, bring the sauce back up to a boil.

Place the chicken on a large platter and pour the sauce over. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve the Sesame Chicken with rice.

Here's a dip that is fab:
Banana Pepper Dip
Combine:
3 8oz. pkg of softened cream cheese (I used only 2)
1/4 c. Romano cheese
1/4 c. gorganzola cheese
1/2 c. mozarella cheese
1/2 c. bread crumbs
8 banana peppers (I used Hungarian, but wear rubber gloves when chopping! My fingers are still burning! You can also use the banana pepper rings in the jar.)
Combine the cheeses, bread crumbs and chopped peppers. Spread into oven safe dish. (I put more bread crumbs on top to finish it off.) Pop into the oven at 450 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Serve with bread or crackers. Delish (as Racheal would say!)

Okay, I'll share a recipe, it is for an awesome easy sausage dip. use it with wheatthins, triscuits, well any cracker or chip you like.

-1 lb. hot italian turkey sausage (regular Italian sausage tastes great too.)
-1 jar pimentos
chopped green onions (about 4-5)
-1/2 C mayo (I used light mayo...but don't tell anyone!)
-1/2 C sour cream (I used light again! shhhh...)
Mix it all together and bake at 350 for 20 mintues (also heats well in a crock pot).
Yum-o!

Cambria,
Congrats on your one year of bloggin'. I also hit that milestone on my blog but haven't done anything fun this month to celebrate. Today I thought I would share one of my family's favorite meals, it's quick and there are never any leftovers. Hope you enjoy it. Melanie aka craftywitchaz

Crispy Chicken Casserole

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1 can chicken broth
4 cups cooked chicken diced or shredded
1/4 cup butter (not a repeat you need this too)
1 8oz. package Chicken stuffing mix
6-8 oz. of shredded cheddar cheese

Melt first 1/4 butter in a saucepan, stir in flour cook for one minute, stir in 1 cup of the chicken broth and continue stirring until sauce thickens, add cheese and stir until melted. Lastly add the chicken and stir to mix. Spread chicken mixture into a 9x13 baking dish. Melt the other 1/4 butter in same saucepan and add the stuffing mix. Stir in remaining chicken broth and spread stuffing over chicken mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
*you can sneak in some shredded carrots to the chicken mixture to get the kids to eat their veggies.

I have been eyeing them up for a while now. Congrats on your whole year blogging. That's amazing. I hope I have this many readers by the time I hit a year.
Here's recipe for my favortie tea drink. Steep half a mug of your favortie tea, I like Earl Grey Vanilla. While that's steeping, in the microwave heat up 1cup of milk for approx. 2 minutes, you want it really hot. If you have any coffee syrups you can mix in 1 tbsp. into the milk. Once it's hot whisk it until you get a nice foam on the top. Pour into your half mug of tea, and spoon foam over top and enjoy. mmmm, it's so yummy.

Hmmm... if you like lumpia... it's Phillipino eggrolls

1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground prok
1/2 lb ground shrimp
3 tbs garlic
1 eggs
3 tbs soy sauce

mix the above together

In a food processor shred
1 cup of carrots

mix together with the meat. Add salt and pepper. From here all you have to do is put the meat in the lumpia wrapper and fry with a fry daddy or a pan filled with oil.

Don't forget the lumpia wrapper. It's different than egg roll wrapper, lumpia wrappers are more paper like.

A recipe that I have to share that is super easy (I love that kind!!) is Apricot Chicken. Place chicken pieces or fillets in a casserole dish. Sprinkle a packet of French Onion Soup powder over the chicken meat. Pour apricot nectar over. (I usually add enough nectar to just cover the meat as you can never have enough sauce.) Cook in a moderate overn for around 40 minutes or better yet, throw it all into a slow cooker and let it cook over the day so it is ready for you at night. An alternative is to also add apricot halves. [My DH jsut doesn't like this so we don't. ;o) ] Enjoy!

All you do is add yogurt and oh man is it the bomb! The best part is that it contains no fat and so you don't feel too guilty after you've eaten half the pan :)

THESE ARE TO DIE FOR AND THEY FREEZE WONDERFULLY TOO!

Candy Bar Cookies
1 cup Packed brown Sugar
2/3 cup butter or margarine
¼ cup light corn syrup
¼ cup peanut butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 ½ cups quick-cooking rolled oats
2 cups semisweet chocolate pieces
1 cup butterscotch pieces
2/3 cup peanut butter

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 13x9x2 baking pan with foil; extend foil over edges of pan. Set aside. In a medium saucepan, cook and stir brown sugar, butter, and syrup over medium-low heat until combined. Remove from heat; stir in the ¼ cup peanut butter and vanilla until smooth.

For crust, place oats in a very large bowl. Pour brown sugar mixture over oats; stir gently until combined . Press mixture evenly onto bottom of prepared baking pan. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are light brown.

Meanwhile, in the same medium saucepan, cook and stir chocolate and butterscotch pieces together over low heat until melted. Stir in the 2/3 cup peanut butter until mixture is smooth. Slowly pour mixture over hot crust, spreading evenly.

Cool in pan on rack for several hours or until chocolate layer is firm. (If necessary, chill until chocolate is set.) When firm, use foil to lift out of pan. Cut into bars.

Easy Peasy Chicken Fettucinni
(Fattening but GU-ood)
Put a pot of water on to boil

Saute 2-3 chicken breasts in 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil. I throw in some garlic and pepper. Cook till done then cube the meat.

Add noodles to your boiling water, I buy bulk egg noodles and throw in handfulls till it looks like enough for my family.

In the pan you sauted the chicken in, melt 1 cube butter, 1 package of cream cheese with 1 cup milk. Once it is melting and the suace is thickening up, add 1 cup parmesan cheese (the dry stuff you put on pizza), add chicken and let cook for a couple of minutes to let flavors meld.

Once noodles are done, strain them and add to your sauce mixture. Yeah Baby! you got some great fettucinni. Enjoy!!!

I have a recipe to share. When you need to whip up a sweet treat on the fly this one comes in very handy:

Chocolate chocolate chip cookies:
1 German chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup canola oil
2 eggs 1 cup chocolate chips

Mix the first three ingredients together with a spoon. Once they are mixed well add the chocolate chips and mix with a spoon. Drop spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Easy and yummy!

Experiment with different cake mixes and different kinds of chips. There are lots of possiblities.

irl, your blog amazes me all the time! I have been drooling over that set for a while now! Here is a recipe I just did for a swap...it's my familiy's traditional Easter Egg Bread (The recipe comes from my great grandma, she brought it over from Italy).

1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 pkg. active dry yeast
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup milk
9 eggs
2 tablespoons grated lemon peel
Easter-egg coloring kit
1 teaspoon water
In bowl, mix sugar, salt, yeast, and 1 cup flour. Heat butter and milk until warm. With mixer at low speed, beat liquid into dry ingredients. At medium, beat 2 minutes. Beat in 2 eggs, one egg white, and 3/4 cup flour, beat 2 minutes. Stir in lemon peel and 1 1/4 cups flour. On floured surface, knead dough about 5 minutes, working in about 1/2 cup flour, place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover, let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours. Meanwhile, dye 6 eggs your favorite colors, following label directions from Easter-egg coloring kit, but do not hard cook eggs, set aside. Punch down dough, turn onto floured surface, cover for 25 minutes. Grease large cookie sheet. Cut dough in half, form each half into a 30-inch long rope. On cookie sheet, twist ropes together to form ring, leaving holes for 5 eggs. Cover, let rise until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours. Preheat oven to 350F. Insert raw, colored eggs into holes in twist, place 1 egg in center. In cup, beat egg yolk with water, use to brush dough. Bake 30 minutes or until golden. Cool on wire rack.

Congrats! That's awesome... Here's a little favorite of everyone at my house.

You take one package of frozen hashbrowns and mix 1 small container sour cream and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Place it in a greased glass baking dish and "dollop" butter on top. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Really good to go with either breakfast or dinner.

Congrats again!! No wonder, your blog is awesome!

What an awesome cupcake set, I haven't seen this one before. I recently made cupcakes for my nursing home friends. I used a strawberry cake mix and then made butter cream frosting. I use 1/2 cup of butter, 1 lb box of powdered sugar, 1/4 cup of milk, 1 tsp of vanilla and 1/2 tsp of almond extracts. Whip it in my kitchenaid and wa-la, a wonderful vanilla frosting for the cakes!

I made this for my DD's 11th birthday party and it was a hit. . . the rice was especially nummy!

Thanks for the great blog read and of course I would LOVE to win the set which has been on my wish list longer than my bank account has been empty!

Cafe Rio Sweet Pork

6 to 7 lbs. pork [can be roast, tenderloin, etc.]

Sauce:
3 [8 ounce] cans tomato sauce
2 [8ounce] cans El Pato (yellow)
2 cups brown sugar
1cup water
Mix sauce ingredients and pour over pork in crock pot. Cook on low
for one night and half a day. [late Saturday night until after
church on Sunday - it works!] One hour before serving, shred meat
and put back in sauce, in crock pot. Can keep on warm for several
hours.

Café Rio Ranch Dressing

Place the following in a blender:

3 fresh tomatillos, cut into quarters (I used canned)
Juice of ½ lime
½ C buttermilk
½ C mayonnaise
½ C sour cream
1 package Ranch Buttermilk Dressing Mix
1 C fresh cilantro
5 stalks (1/2 bunch) of green onions w/ends
2 cloves crushed garlic
½ to ¾ tsp salt
¼ tsp crushed cayenne pepper
4 tsp sugar or other sweetener

Combine well in blender and refrigerate one hour.

Lime Rice

2 cups long cook rice
2 cans [approx. four cups] chicken broth
1 cupe butter [the real thing]
approx. 1 cup chopped celery
1 onion chopped
1 bunch cilantro chopped
zest and juice of 2 limes

Stove Top:
Saute the celery and onion in the cube of butter [med/high]. Add the
rice and stir until all the rice is coated with butter. Add the
broth, lime zest and juice, and cilantro. Bring to boil, then turn
down to simmer and cook for twenty minutes, or until rice is done.
Rice Cooker:
Flip rice cooker on "cook" and saute vegies - follow same directions
as above. Once you've added everything, make sure rice cooker is set
on "cook" to begin the cooking cycle, it will flip to "warm" when it
is done.

Sweet Tomatillo Salsa (like Rosa's in AZ)

2 28oz can Tomatillos - drained [they did drain them]
1 7oz can Embassa sliced Jalapeno's in escabeche [this was the sliced
jalapeno with some carrots, but I just drained it and put everything
in and it worked like a charm]
3-4 packets of equal
1 bunch of cilantro
Blend everything - I did add the entire can of jalapeno, and it did
have a kick to it - I don't thing they make it that spicy in the
restaurant - so maybe not all the can, but I have at times got
spicier batches, so that you can control. Also, add the packets of
Equal one at a time, tasting each time because you want to balance
that with the jalapeno - the perfect sweet/spicy balance - Yum!!!

We also had a big pot of pinto beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream,
pico de gallo, cilantro, guacamole, & chips. We found some foil
circular take-out pans and put a large flour tortilla in each. They
could then build their salads in that, or wrap up the tortilla for a
burrito.

LOVE your blog, Cambria! Happy Anniversary! I got this recipe from a friend I met through stamping, so it must be good! (It's wonderful...I've tried it already.) It doesn't have a name, however, so I call it:

Carleen's Ranch Pretzels

3#'s of bite size pretzels
1 bottle Orville Redenbacher popcorn oil
1 envelope Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix

Get a r-e-a-l-ly big bowl (and better yet, if it comes with a cover) and add the pretzels to it.

Empty the popcorn oil into a large measuring cup and add the Hidden Valley Ranch dressing-mix well.

Slowly pour that mixture over the pretzels, mixing as you go. Over the course of several hours, or a whole day (if you can keep them around that long!) every hour or so, shake or mix it all again, The pretzels will absorb the oils and ranch flavoring, and it will continue to blend through out the day, providing you mix several times. Yummo! I made a big batch of these (big batch is the only way to make these!) for a party, and my family nibbled the entire day! I was constantly admonishing them to save them for the party!

Ooooh, great goodies! How about a recipe for Lime Jello cake. Perfect for summer weather

Lime Jello cake

yellow cake mix (eggs, oil, butter ..whatever you need for it.)

2 pkg of lime jello
2 packs of Dream Whip
1 box of Pistachio instant pudding

Make yellow cake according to instructions, let cool. When cake is cool, with a knife poke holes into the cake (10 to 12 will work).
Mix 2 packs of lime jello and 2 cups boiling hot water. Pour Jello into the holes in cake. You may not use all of the jello, just enough to saturate the cake unless you really like lime Jello. Refrigerate cake until Jello has set.
Combine 2 packs of Dream Whip, pistachio pudding mix, and the milk and vanilla Dream Whip recommends for their icing.
Smear on cake and Ta-da! Keep cake in fridge until all gone (it doesn't last long)
Have a great day!

Wow...stamping and cooking on the same blog. I must be in heaven. Love the cupcake set. Here's a great chocolate cake recipe with no cholesterol. DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CAKE
Coat 8" round cake pan with spray. Whisk 1 cup water and 1/2 cup unsweetened natural cocoa powder in small bowl until smooth. In large bowl combine 1 1/2 c flour, 1 c sugar, 3/4 tsp bak soda, and 1/2 tsp salt. Add cocoa mixture, 1/2 c canola oil and 1 tbsp vanilla. Whisk until smooth; whisk in 2 tsp white vinegar. Pour into pan. Bake 30 minutes; cool on wire rack for 20 min. When cool, glaze.
Glaze: Melt 2 oz dark chocolate, finely chopped, over simmering water. Let cool slightly. Whisk together 1/2 c powdered sugar and 2 tbsp water, then add melted chocolate, whisking until thickened, about 1 minute. Immediately pour glaze onto cooled cake. YUMMY!
