For Father

Friday is my Dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!!! I bought this set because of the sentiment and the tool box... totally reminds me of my Dad. My parents are in Texas tonight heading to Tennessee tomorrow. I think this will be the first birthday that we haven't spent all together. It's weird not having them home for holidays and birthdays. I'm happy they are having fun being retired though. I am ready for them to come home now...... how sad is that? LOL. I'm all grown up and I miss my parents!

I LOVE those brads, but I can't remember when I got them! I've had them forever.... that is why I can't remember. They totally look like screws huh? And, they are not at all heavy.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: For Father, Size it Up Roller Wheel
Paper: Watercolor Paper, Basic Gray, Kraft, More Mustard
Ink: Classic Ink Pads; Ruby Red, More Mustard, River Rock, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Black Stazon
Other: Crafter's Tool Kit, Screw brads, Dimensionals, Sakura Silver Pen, Vintage Beige Ribbon (AMM), Scor-Pal.

Sorry for the late post.. it's been a LONG busy week. Oh... the crock pot vomit? SIX THUMBS UP BABY! I'll totally be making that again. I only use four chicken breasts, one can of beans and corn and one brick of cream cheese. That was plenty to feed my teenager and tween twins plus we had some left overs. We ate it over rice, but next time we'll try it in burritos. Thanks for the recipe Alicia! YUMMMEEEE!!! My goal is to try at least one new recipe a week from my blog candy threads, so I'll keep you posted. Thanks for stopping by!!

It is so sweet that you feel that way about your parents. My mom and dad only live 10 minutes away but my mom and I talk on the phone every day! Love the birthday card!

ps. this will be my 4th attempt to leave a message. Apparently the characters I keep entering in are incorrect. Has this been happening to anyone else? I

That card is so neat! What a great stamp. And those brads are awesome! Masculine cards aren't always easy for me.
I understand about missing the parents. Dad lives only 5 minutes away, tops. But Mom passed away 6 years ago. I miss her terribly. Give your mom an extra big hug the next time you see her.

Just darling! I love this card - what is the wood grain background...is it paper or stamped or something else?

My parents JUST retired also...we've been having them over for dinner every night...it is tiring, but they do the dishes if we cook!! Wooohooo! ;-)

Your card is beautiful, and your story is touching. My parents are not traveling, but they live 260 miles away, so I don't see them often enough. I miss them, too. I love that stamp set. My Dad isn't a carpenter (nor very handy, for that matter), but my grandfather and uncle were, and my brother and nephew are. I guess I should buy it.....

Hi Elaine!

I smooshed my pad all over the card, then I used that size it up roller wheel for the texture. :)

Happy Stampin!
