Organization

I totally bite when it comes to being organized. I want to be organized, but I always get sidetracked. I'll get one part of my corner organized, but then the rest looks like something exploded. LOL. Besides, how could I ever find time to stamp if I was always organizing.... right?

I got this really cool system on sale at Pottery Barn last year. I think me and my friends and I cleared them out. They had all kinds of shelves, bars, pin board, etc you can add or move around in slots. I knew I wanted the bars, but didn't know exactly what for. I've been using them for my large punches, and that takes up two bars (I have three units), so recently I bribed one of my sons to trade me a big shelf for his bar. I got them each a unit for their rooms too. The bars came with big hooks, which I use for my brayers and some 8x8 pads of card stock... heavy or bulky things.

I wanted the Clip it Up ever since I saw it, but do not have any more room on my desk. My friend Mish, had the brilliant idea to use the binder rings with binder clips to hang her stuff (She got a PB Shelf or two herself). I went off to Walmart all excited to get organized. I found the rings, but couldn't find the clips, then I spotted the name tag badge clips. Whooo Hoooo! They work PERFECTLY and now I'm clippin up everything! I have my acrylic stamps, my classy brass templates, stickers, envelopes... anything I can get my hands on, and up off my desk. They are VERY strong too.

Here is what I bought:
I had already ordered a bag of clips from eP for the Clip It Up system and they arrived shortly after. I have a huge shelf in front of me with a dowel under it that I had used for ribbon. The ribbon that was on it, I rarely used. Most of my used ribbon is in my Stampin'Up! ribbon holders. So, I took them off and added some more binder clips that I had in a drawer, then started clipping on my smaller items and hanging them. I love this! I can hang multiple things on each ring and can reach out and pull them off and put them back on easily.

Being organized feels so good... I'm going to really try and be better about it. I really do have too much stuff. Is that possible? I'm sharing the family room so I'm trying to stay in "my" section and I was creeping out... or as my husband would say, TAKING OVER.

I have a big OTT-LITE desk lamp on my desk. It has a swiveling magnifying glass... which I never use. I have it pushed over the top of my lite with a bracelet that my friend made for me hanging from it. My space is not fancy. It's like me.... frumpy, but it works. I have lots of things everywhere that make me happy. Things my kids have made, things people have made and sent to me, and things like a bracelet that I don't wear (only because I don't dress up often or wear much jewelery), but I treasure because it was made by my friend. Reminds me how blessed I am to have great friends and love in my life. Oh... sorry, sidetracked. See how easy that happens to me? Anyway... I used a few of those cool Clip It Up clips to hang things that I want to use. Like... I have some pearls from my friend Ellen Hutson's store, along with some ribbon, a new Heidi Swap Mask, and my new Stampendous letters... all things I want to use soon. I know that if I put them up, I will forget that I wanted to use them. Now, they dangle in front of me... calling to me. And, when I have time, I will reach up and un-clip em.

So.... until someone knocks at my door and yells "Good Morning Cambria... you get an extreme craft room makeover!" (in my dreams) this will have to do. And, it's perfect for me.

I'll show you more later of my space as I get more organized.... but don't hold your breath. SNORT!

Spring break this week for my kids and the sun is out today! It's cold, but the sun is out! So much for getting much organizing done this week..... maybe next week. *wink*

Have a great day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

I think you have some good ideas there! It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of your space, only if it is comfortable to you and it seems like it is very comfortable since you make some awesome stuff in there!

Hi Cammie,
I too wanted the Clip it Up (in fact my sister had already bought it for me for my birthday) when I found an alternative solution. At IKEA I found a steel wire curtain system 4.99 along with extra clip hooks just like Clip It Up but at a much better price ~4.99 for 48. You get the clips and plus ome othe rS type hooks as well. I attached the steel wire system inside bookcase and removed the shelf below and have clipped up much of my packaged embellishemnts. Once I get it all organized (wink, wink) I will send a picture. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20079342 the website only has the wire/clip kit not the additional packaged clips (at least I couldn't find them).

Wow! Great job! I love visiting this site for inspiration, and I was surprised to log on today and see a fabulous idea for storing those pesky punches. I love them all, but want to get them off my stampin area. Thanks for the great idea! Keep up the good work!
