Copic Candy!!!

Copics anyone???? Look what Marianne at Copic Markers gave me to share!

I'm Baaaaaack! Oh baby..... I cannot even tell you how much fun I had with Marianne. I had to keep reminding myself to close my mouth. AMAZING. I would have paid SO much more for that class. I am going to be a Marianne groupie. If you are anywhere near Medford, OR this coming Friday (April 18th), you are CRAZY if you don't sign up and get Copic Certified. This class and Copic markers WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. I was gasping out loud. GASPING! I love Marianne and Copic Markers!!!! I had SO much fun!! I can't wait to share with you all the cool things these markers can do!

As soon as I arrived, I received three hugs from Marianne.... so thanks girls!! Marianne did indeed give me your hugs!! I got to meet stampers that are in some of my stamp groups... it was SO fun to put names to faces. I wish we could have hung out longer! Everyone was as excited as me.... so can you imagine? We all wanted to just bottle up Marianne and take her home (her AND her Copics).

If you leave a comment (I love easy recipes *wink*) , I'll have random.org choose a winner on Friday! Candy includes 1 Copic Wide Y15 (yellow), 2 Copics G14, G16 (Apple Green & Malachite), 2 Copic Sketch B21 & B23 (Baby Blue & Phthalo), 2 Copic Ciao E93 & E95 (Tea Rose & Flesh Pink), 1 Twinkling Like Stars Spica Glitter Pen and 1 Wine Copic Multiliner all in the little Copic Bag to go!

I have SO much to catch up on today, but hopefully this evening I can put together some of the images I colored this weekend. See ya soon... thanks for stopping by!

Hey girl, Go color and come back and show us what these babies can do! I cannot wait to see! I am so excited that you had such a great time and learned so much. Now show us! Hee hee. Pick me! I don't even own one copic marker. I would love to try them and see if they are "worth" my money I don't have.

I am so glad you had a good time. I would LOVE to get copic certified, but I can't afford a trip to the US just for the classes. Maybe if I start saving now...

lucky you, can't wait to see what you show us!~
here's a great one I got from Pots & Pins blog. chop up one onion and place 1/2 on the bottom of a crock pot. then put a salt & peppered pork butt (fat side up) and the remaining onion on top. cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours. Then, shred with a fork and place a bottle of BBQ sauce & you have shredded pork sandwiches. yumm-o

*stumbling over myself to type in a comment...*

I've been eyeballing Copics all weekend since you started *bragging* about becoming certified!! In fact, I slipped my husband a note AT CHURCH with Copics and a ScorePal on it, followed with the words "For Christmas/Birthday/etc". My mind is ON these things!!

Quick recipe....

Garlic Bread Bites

1 can of Grands biscuits
Pressed Garlic
Italian seasoning (if you have the Pampered Chef Italian--that's ALL you need...YUMMMM!! I can hook ya up... *wink*)
melted butter

Preheat oven according to biscuit directions.

Pull biscuits apart and roll into small balls. Place them in a pie plate (touching is fine).

Mix melted butter, garlic, and seasoning together. Brush on biscuits.

Bake as per biscuit directions.

Pull apart and enjoy!!!

Ellie Hurry up Chicken Wraps(I learned this watching Rachel Ray)

Brown chicken breast pieces in olive oil in skillet, and stir in some salsa. Cook until chicken is thoroughly cooked, then cut up chicken in the sauce. Layer on warmed tortillas with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sliced avocado, and sour cream. Fold tortilla and you'll have happy kids!

Ok how was that??? I soooo wish I could take some Copic classes that would be so awesome :)

Well, here's a super easy dip recipe and although it may not look appetizing it is delicious!

Sausage Dip

1 lb. mild sausage
8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 can mild Rotelle tomatoes OR 8 oz jar of Picante Sauce

Brown sausage; drain. Place sausage and other ingredients into crock pot, stir; heat until cheese melts. Serve warm with Tostitos or crackers.

If you like it hotter/spicier, use a spicier sausage and tomatoes. We're spice wimps around here so we use th mild stuff.

can't pass this up. I would love copic, at least I think I would love them. I can't fit them in the budget, yet!
so an easy recipe, huh?
Well, I recently discovered this awesome Pampered Chef recipe for a yummy Strawberry triffel. It is easy, tastes amazing, and is even pretty to look at!
Strawberry Cream Trifle
-----------------------

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
1 pkg (10.75 oz) frozen pound cake, thawed
1 qt. fresh strawberries
1 container (16 oz) frozen sliced strawberries in syrup, thawed
1 lemon
3 containers (8 oz each) blended strawberry yogurt
1 pkg (3.4 oz) cheesecake instant pudding and pie filling
1 container (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
Powdered sugar

Directions:
1. Coarsely chop almonds using Food Chopper. Cut pound cake into 1-in. cubes using Color Coated Bread Knife; set aside. Set aside one strawberry for garnish. Hull remaining strawberries and cut into quarters. In Classic Batter Bowl, combine fresh and frozen strawberries; mix well.

2. Juice lemon using Juicer to measure 2 tbsp juice. In Stainless (4-qt.) Mixing Bowl, whisk lemon juice, yogurt and pudding mix until smooth using Stainless Whisk; immediately fold in 1 cup of the whipped topping.

3. To assemble trifle, place one-third of the pound cake cubes into bottom of Trifle Bowl. Top pound cake with one-third of the strawberry mixture. Top with half of the yogurt mixture, spreading evenly. Sprinkle with one-third of the almonds. Repeat layers one time. Top with remaining pound cake cubes and remaining strawberry mixture.

4. To garnish, spread remaining whipped topping over top of trifle, forming a flat surface using Small Spreader. Sprinkle remaining almonds over whipped topping. Sprinkle with powdered sugar using Flour/Sugar Shaker. Create strawberry fan with reserved strawberry; place into center of trifle.

Yield: 12 servings

WOW! I sure wish a Copic class would come to Indiana, but no such luck I'm sure. Here is an awesome recipe for a party:

Pretzels, rolos, pecans
Put pretzels on a microwaveable plate, place a rolo on top, microwave 30 seconds or until softening; push pecan into rolo and smash down. Tastes like a turtle.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like you had a great time. I need to venture into the Copic world, I just well am too worried that once I start with those, I'll never stop buying till I've gotten them all.
Easy Recipe huh?
Sloppy Joes (my fav)

Brown ground beef with an onion & green pepper that you've chopped up. Add a can or two of tomato soup, some salt & pepper and let cook for almost 2 hours (I think, I just watch it). Serve on buns with macaroni salad, and I'll be right there for din din.

Pieces of me said...

OK here's mine:
Awesome Chicken
4 Chicken breasts
1pkg. Good Seasons Italian salad dressing mix
1 teasp. Onion powder
1 teasp. Garlic powder
1 1/2 C. corn flake crumbs
Sour cream
wash and clean chicken, pat dry.
Mix Corn flake crumbs with Italian salad dressing mix and 1 teasp. Onion and 1 teasp. Garlic powder.together. Coat chicken breasts with sour cream, dip in corn flake mixture. Place in a 9 x 13 baking pan bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 min, do not over cook.
This can be adjusted for more chicken breast just by using more crumbs and adding a bit more onion and garlic. Very good and easy.
This is my favorite food blog. Everything I've ever made from her is so GOOD: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/
Thanks for the awesome blog.

As for a recipe, I don't have much to share on that because I hate to cook, but one easy meal is to put chicken breasts in the crock pot with a can of cream of mushroom soup and about a 1/2 of white wine (or dry cream sherry). The wine is what makes it really tasty!

One of my favorite quick and easy recipes is Greek Cous Cous salad. Cook your couscous, add chopped tomatoes or grape tomatoes, chopped cucumber, bits of feta cheese, olives if you like that sort of thing, red onions, and then toss some Italian or Greek salad dressing overtop, and mix. For extra protein and fiber, add a drained can of chickpeas. It's SO good!

OK so now that I am totally starved for food and copic markers!
I was viewing another blog and the subject of butternut squash soup came up. i found a relatively simple recipe for it.

1 butternut squash, peeled, cubed
1 leek or large onion, diced
1 red pepper, diced
dry white wine or vermouth
2 tbls. flour
3 cups soy milk
frozen corn (optional)
salt to taste

Possible garnishes : dill weed and low fat sour cream

Steam butternut squash in vegetable steamer. Reserve 1 cup of the steaming liquid for the soup. Meanwhile braise the onion or leek and red pepper in the wine or vermouth. Add the flour and stir constantly to prevent sticking. Add more wine if neccessary to keep it the mixture moist. Add 1 cup of reserved liquid from steamed squash and 3 cups of skim milk. Add steamed butternut squash and simmer all together so that milk is heated through and soup begins to thicken a little.

How generous of them go give you some giva-aways!! I am making this tonight and it takes an ounce of work to get it in the oven. Crush 1.5 cups french fried onion rings (like you put on top of green bean casserole). Dip chicken breasts in 1 beaten egg and then cover both sides with french fried onion rings. Bake at 400 for about 40 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink.

I think the easiest recipe I have is for Kookie Brittle. I double the recipe to make a 13X9 cake pan.

1 c. butter
1 c. white sugar
2 c. flour
1 pkg chocolate chips
1 c. walnuts (optional)

Mix together all ingredients. Press into an 8X8 cake pan (double the recipe for a 13X9 pan). Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

It's really good warm with french vanilla or vanilla bean ice cream.

Here's the greatest recipe...it's called Taco Soup:

Brown 1# ground turkey with
1 small onion chopped. When browned, add 1 package of taco seasonings and one package of Ranch dressing mix. Dump in the following:
1 can pinto beans
1 can chili beans (I use medium)
2 cans ro-tel tomatoes (mild)
1 bag (16oz) corn
Bring to boil, heat through and enjoy. This is taco soup and it is from weight watchers. All of my family and friends don't realize that it's from weight watchers and beg me to make it whenever there is a get-together! It's great!

OK, for an easy recipes, try this one. Grab a roll of pillsbury crescent dough out of the package but let it in a roll. Cut the roll by 1/2" slices and set in a round pyrex dish. Then, mix well 1 cup of brown sugar with 1 1/2 cup of 15% cream (35% is just better, but maybe too much), and 1 teaspoon of butter. Pour on your roll slices and bake 15-18 min in a 350°F oven, or until well baked (pale gold).

Then, let this out of your kids eyes and also from yours if it's not dessert's time.

«Would like to hear from you if you try it :O)

O>O>O pick me, I don't have Copics yet. Seems like every blogger is using them. I can't believe how inspiring the blog community is. You must be having a blast. OK you said you like recipes. I have a one in my repertoire that is a sure thing. It is Chicken with tomatoes and white wine sauce.

I use 4 boneless chicken breasts, but really any type bone in or whatever. I will even cut up the chicken to make it go further.

Heat 3 Tablespoons of olive oil and salt and pepper your chicken. Brown your meat until golden brown. Top with one chopped onion and 3 garlic cloves and cook until softened. Add a 28 oz can of diced tomatoes (this is forgiving, I used home canned quart) and 1 cup of dry white wine (also forgiving I will use sherry in a pinch.) Simmer for at least 45 minutes. Serve with rice, the sauce is awesome on the rice. This recipe is alot of bang for your buck. I have served this to guests, they never know how easy it is. Thanks for the opportunity for candy. Take care, Laura

How fun, Cami! I wish I could take a class like that.

Here's my easy recipe for Alfredo...

* 1/2 cup butter
* 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
* 2 teaspoons garlic powder
* 2 cups milk
* 6 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
* 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in Parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Toss with hot pasta to serve.

My kids love LOVE this sauce. We add some shrimp or chicken and broccoli and serve over pasta!

Ooooh! I don't have any Copic Markers yet so this would be FAB!

Okay, for a chance to win I'll give you the recipe for my Spaghetti Sauce (it's a bit spicy but the BEST!!).

Russell Family Spaghetti Sauce:

Cut up 3-4 HOT Italian sausage links into 1" pieces and in a big pot saute them with chopped garlic, a little red wine (oh 1/2-1 cup or so), some dried Italian seasonings (oregano, basil whatever suits your fancy), throw in some Garlic salt and some onion powder AND some crushed red pepper. Obviously the red pepper is a big factor in the spicy-ness...add more if you want it nose running "hot" and not so much if ya don't. The hot italian sausage will really kick it up as well and is a necessity for this sauce. As the sausage is cooking I sometimes add a little water from time to time to keep everything juicy as they cook up. When sausages are browned nicely add one big can of tomato sauce to the pot and then in the blender put one big can of whole canned tomatoes w/ juice and blend...then add that to your pot. Stir up good so all the yummy sausage "juice" is mixed in and cover and let simmer for at least 3-4 hours (stirring as necessary). This is a thin sauce so I like to serve it over Rigatoni noodles instead of the thin, long spaghettini type noodles. It catches more of the sauce that way. Anyway, it's DELISH and my favorite sauce in the whole world. Most people that have had it LOVE it. My husband says it's why he married me! LOL!

Ham & Beans
First thing in the morning, dump one bag of dry Great Northern Beans in a large pot and cover with water. Let beans soak all day. About 2 hours before dinnertime, cut up a ham steak slice into bite sized pieces. Add ham to beans in water and bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, cover and simmer until beans are tender.

Well, since our theme is candy (I want copics!!!) I have a recipe involving candy - that is sooooooo good.

Take a roll of chocolate chip cookie dough, the premade stuff you get at the grocery store, and spread it into a square baking dish. Bake per package directions until it is almost done (about a minute less than the package says). Then slice up a package of the small snickers bars (into about 1/2 inch slices) and put on top of the cookie dough. Pop it back into the oven and finish baking (or until the candy is melted). Take it out, I spread my melted snickers bars around a little, let it cool, and cut into 1 inch bars - they are beyond good!!

Thanks for the chance and hope you like the recipe!

Mollie said...

How exciting! I've never played with any of the Copic Markers, but am thinking I need to get some soon:o) My friend sent me this receipe...

YUMMMM!!!!! These are sooooooo good!!!

Market Street potatoes

8 to 10 baby white or red potatoes
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/8 cup diced green or red bell pepper
1/8 cup diced yellow onion
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Place whole, unpeeled potatoes in a large pan. Cover with water and bring to boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook 10 to 15 minutes or until potatoes are still firm, but not soft or overdone. Immediately drain and place in ice water to stop the cooking.
Leaving the skin on, cut potatoes into one-inch chunks. In a bowl, combine potatoes, cheese, peppers and onions. Season with salt and pepper. Toss lightly to combine.
Place mixture in a shallow baking pan that has been lightly coated with nonstick cooking spray. Cover tightly with foil and bake 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 5 minutes longer.
Makes 4 servings.

This recipe is definitely easy.. not mine though(found it on the the internet) and make it all the time.

Better Than Olive Garden Alfredo Sauce

1/2 cup butter
2 cups heavy cream
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 t white pepper
1/2 c grated or shredded parmesan
3/4 cup shredded mozarella

Melt butter in saucepan; add cream, pepper, garlic and parmesan. Bring to a simmer and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add Mozarella and stir often. That's it! How much easier could it get.

I mixed in a few shakes of ground nutmeg at the end and it was a nice improvement. Sometimes I add chicken and sometimes shrimp, depending on the guests and my mood!

Sounds like an amazing weekend! I'm so jealous! Can't wait to see all you created & learned.

My easy recipe:
Pour in a heap of flour in a pie plate (sorry no measuring here but, I'd say at least a cup.)

Sprinkle in at least a Tablespoon of Italian seasoning & stir it together until the flour looks speckled.

In another pie plate pour in Creamy Caesar dressing (I usually use low fat Paul Newman's.) Creamy is the key though. Oily won't work as well.

Dredge pork chops and cover w/the flour mixture then the Caesar dressing & then place in a baking dish. Repeat until all the pork chops are coated.

Then sprinkle Shredded Parmesan cheese all over the top of the chops.

Bake at 375 until cooked. Usually about 45 mins. Parm cheese will turn into a delicious crust.

We serve it over rice or pasta so that the chops' sauce flavors the starch.

Takes 5 mins to prep but, tastes super good.

1 cup macaroni or shells
1 cup Velveeta, cubed

Oh wow... how cool is that? I'd love to get some copics. Perhaps someday. What awesome candy and I know someone is going to love that!

Here is a recipe that I got from Pioneer Woman recently. I made it the other night and it is TO DIE FOR. But be forewarned, it is NOT for those on a diet... LOL

Crescent Rolled Apples (half batch ... perfect for just a couple)

1 granny smith apple, peeled and cored... sliced into 8ths
1 can of crescent rolls
1 stick of butter
3/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
cinnamon
Mountain Dew

Preheat oven to 350F. Take each slice of apple and roll in the crescent roll. Take baking dish (I used 8 x 10 for a half batch) and coat with a little butter. Put each crescent rolled apple into the dish.
Melt the 1 stick butter, add sugar and vanilla. Stir well. Pour over crescents. Drizzle a little over a cup of Mountain Dew around the edges. Top with cinnamon.
Bake for 40 minutes. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.

Just tell me that doesn't make a mouth water??? LOL... have a wonderful week !

Spread the peanut butter on one of the pieces of bread. Then spread the jam on the OTHER piece of bread. Smoosh the two pieces of bread together, slice either down the middle or on the diagonal. For special occasions, you can slice it again and put in some fancy toothpicks with the frou frou on top.
