Hanna Challenge #19

Every Friday in the Hanna Stamps Member Forum at SCS, there is a weekly challenge by a design team member. It's always fun, and I try each week to play along. This weekend challenge was to do some paper piecing and to add some bling. Can you see the paper piecing? Yep, it's the dog's bandanna...... I had Hanna all pieced up, but she just didn't fit right on the card. The bling is the glitter center of the flowers and the flower slide on the ribbon.

It's not too late to play along... get out your Hanna's and come play with us! Remember to put HSC19 in the keyword section when uploading so that we can all see your creation.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: In the Garden, Large Breed Dogs, My Best Friend (Hanna Stamps)
Paper: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Jersey Shore DS Paper.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics, Brilliant Blue
Other: Nesties, Cuttlebug, Styled Silver Hodgepodge, Gingham Ribbon, Dimensionals, Scor-Pal, Sakura Stardust Pen, Eclipse Masking Tape, Copic Air Gun System.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.... have a wonderful weekend!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #50

Whooo Hooo! Short week this week and it felt like it too... I can't believe it's Friday again.

I went crazy this week with Beate's sketch. I love it. I'm going to use up more designer paper!

This is The Jersey Shore Double sided designer paper from SU! The stamp set is called Just Celebrate. I used Copic markers YR04, YR07, B21, B24, YG14 and C1 on all three cards. I also used the rectangle Nesties. The strip across the front is embossed part way down with the Swiss Dot Embossing folder.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Just Celebrate
Paper: Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, Jersey Shore DS Paper, Shimmery White.
Ink: Ranger Distress Black Soot, Copics.
Other: Ribbon (SU!) Soft Subtle Brads (SU!), Dimensionals, Crafter's Tool Kit, Sakura Stardust Pen, Nesties, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Cuttlebug, Janome Sew Mini, Scor-pal.

Okay.... you know the drill right? Check out the other girls on Beate's Sketch Team... they are sure to amaze you. When you upload to SCS, put WSC50 in the keyword section.

Just Celebrate

LOVE this set from Stampin'Up! out of the Occassions Mini. Occasion stamp sets always appeal to me...well, because you can use them for all occasions... snort. I'm tired today... can ya tell? Another thing I love from Stampin'Up! is their designer double sided paper. This is from the collection Jersey Shore. The bright colors are gorgeous and perfect for summer... don't ya think?

I'm in desperate need of some cards... some all occasion cards! LOL. So, that is my mission today..... to get er done baby. I'm going to stamp Zappa style. :)

Hope you have a great day... tomorrow is TGIF baby. I love Beate's sketch this week.... can't wait to show you. Hope you can play along this weekend. :)

The recipe:

Stamps: Just Celebrate (Stampin'Up!)

Riley Moose

Hey everyone! Wow, these last weeks of May are busy ones.

Just wanted to share a Riley card I made awhile back when I had the Island Blossoms paper out. It's retired from SU!, but it's one of my favorite designer paper.

Love this sweet Riley hanging out. I got my new Meese yesterday in the mail... and OMG. That's it... just OMG! You do not want to miss the Hanna Pajama Party over at SCS in the member forums.... that's all I'm saying. *smile*

Okay... back to work for me. Hope you are all having a great week. Thanks for stopping by. :)

More In The Meadow

Playing with scraps on my desk. I love this flower from the set In The Meadow by Lizzie Anne Designs. The background is another scrap piece I found on my desk from when I was playing with my Copic Markers and "the juice". I used a paper towel in my embossing tray saturated with the Colorless Blending solution, as the stamp pad. The stripes are also made with Copic Markers and Eclipse Masking Tape. I stamped the main flower over the top using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. LOVE this ink.... it dries instantly and doesn't smear with the Copics. You can see in the photo, but I added some glittery highlights to the flower with my Sakura Stardust pen. :)

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: In the Meadow (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Paper: Georgia Pacific White, Shimmery White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic YR07,YG85, YR23.
Other: Earth Brads, Circle Punch, Crafter's Tool Kit, Twill Ribbon, Eclipse Masking Tape, Sakura Stardust Pen, Scor-Pal.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We are all tired and sunburned today. :) It was SO nice not to have the rain that was predicted, so I'm totally NOT complaining. Thanks for stopping by!

Life is in Bloom

Remember this card? It's a stamp made by Printworks (thanks girls). Here is another flower that I cut out and around from the one image. I LOVE these flowers. :)

My Aunt shared some of her Nesties with me, and I can't stop playing with them. They are SO cool... I need them.... NEED them. The little pearls are from Ellen Hutson's store... you just peel and stick... gotta love that. The ribbon is Cindy Ribbon, and the dots are made with my Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I also used some Cotton Candy Stickles to add some glittah in the center.

Of course my flower is colored with Copic Markers... but shoot, I forgot which colors I used. I'll try and be better about that.

We spent the day at the lake. The weather man called for rain, but it was a gorgeous day. SO much work to get the cabin all ready for friends & family and summer fun, but it's totally worth it. Going back tomorrow... I'm hoping for another sunny day. Hope you have a terrific holiday weekend. Stay safe my friends,

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #49

Better late than never? Sorry. It's been a crazy week and I just couldn't get it together. Friday.... it is indeed Friday and time for Beate's Weekend Sketch!!

This was fun to make. The fireworks on the blue are hard to see, but they are stamped with Brilliance Rocket Red Gold... it shimmers and shines baby. Have you tried Scor-Tape yet? LOVE this tape. Amazing... it's thin and unbelievable sticky. I ran three strips across the card stock, peeled the top layer and added Chunky Red Glitter from Stampin'Up! all over. The stripes below are on shimmery white and they are hand drawn with the chisel end of my Copic Lipstick Red marker. I used my Scor-pal to emboss lines first, so it was easy to get them pretty even, but I like the hand drawn look. :)

Here is Beate's Sketch:
Check out the rest of her sketch team.... who were on time:

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics, Brilliance Rocket Red Gold.
Other: Round Scallop Punch (Marvy), Coluzzle, Scor-Tape, Scor-Pal, White Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, Chunky Red Glitter, Sakura Glitter Pen, Unibal White Gel Pen.

Hope you have a great weekend... thanks for stopping by! ;)

Jersey Shore Baby

I had to have the set In the Stars out of the Occasions Mini, but this is the first time I've used it! I must get it out and ink it up more. I really need to start writing down my thoughts..... there was something I had in mind for it, and now I can't remember. Anyway, I used it for the stars in the background and the cute round baby sentiment. The onesie is from the set By Ones & By Twos. I think this is my all time favorite baby set.

So, do you jot down your ideas? Do you have a sketch book? How do you keep track of your ideas and projects? Fill me in, help me organize my brain please. LOL.

I have more running around to do today... what a busy week. I'm sure everyone is getting ready for the holiday weekend and the end of the school year.

Oh, I had fun last night helping my oldest son make a family tree. He had to make it on a big white poster board. Guess what I used? MY COMPRESSOR and Copic Air Brush system..... all I can say, is he will have THE best sky, dirt and textured tree in class baby! Now, if he can remember the speech part of it in Spanish! :) And I did offer to let him spray, but he thought it was overboard and was happy to let me spray away. After I was done... he admitted it looked pretty darn cool. I wonder if they will guess that his Mom's hobby is? (it's a part of his speech... to describe each family member and then share their hobby) LOL.

Okay... must get going, here is the recipe:

Stamps: In the Stars, By Ones & By Twos.
Paper: Only Orange, Shimmery White, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Jersey Shore Designer Paper.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics, Whisper White
Other: Nesties, Dimensionals, Round Circle Punch, Marvy Scalloped Circle, Stripped Ribbon, Vintage Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit, Janome Sew Mini, Scor-pal.

Have a great day everyone!! Thanks for stopping by!!

In the Meadow

I got the most beautiful paper from Ellen Hutson. It's a 6x6 Collection called Sprout by Memory Box. I stamped the flowers from the In The Meadow set directly on the paper, then colored them with Copic Markers V12, V15, & BV08. I added some Stickles for the centers.

This is one of those cards that you just can't photograph and show the true beauty or colors... man, I need some kind of photo box... what do you all use to take your photos? It's so frustrating sometimes. It doesn't help that we have had some very cloudy days lately on the OR Coast. Anyway, I love the sentiments with the stamp set, and the colors.... out of my norm, but it's good for me to try new things. What is it with me and purple and yellow lately? Well, I guess there is more than pink out there huh? LOL.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: In The Meadow (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Sprout (Memory Box)
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers
Other: Dimensionals, Nesties, Jamone Sew Mini, Stickles, Grosgrain Ribbon, Scor-pal.

I'm off to do the dreaded grocery shopping for the weekend. Whatcha got planned? The rain is suppose to stop, so it should be nice. Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by today. :)

Another Dirty Girl Challenge

Okay... so I fixed that knot. I didn't notice until after I took the photo, but I'm too lazy to go and take another photo. It's a nice perfect knot now... LOL.

One more for the Dirty Girl Challenge (see previous post). I LOVE this set from the Occasions Mini called Just Celebrate.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Just Celebrate
Paper: Shimmery White, Only Orange, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip.
Ink: Graphite Brilliance Black, Copics
Other: Nesties, Dimensionals, Ribbon (Stampin'Up!), Cuttlebug, Bithday Embossing Folder, Sakura Glitter Pen, Crystal Effects, Eclipse Masking Tape, Copic Airbrush System, Scor-pal.

Hope your day is HOOTASTIC. SNORT!!

Just Celebrate

Another dirty challenge in the Dirty Dozen Alumni forums! These are so much fun.... I was happy that I could play this month.

Here is the challenge:

Challenge Focus:
Owls. If you don't have an owl image you may use any flighted fowl to play.

Required Element: Texture. You may interpret this any way you like - please explain in your upload description

Restricted Element: No crystals/rhinestones or dew drop type embellishments.

Keyword: DCWH508 (for Dirty Challenge Whoo Hoo May 08 )

The only owl I own is one from Stampin'Up! in the set Just Celebrate. I masked him, then stamped the flowers, then used my Copic Airbrush system to make the grass and the sky. First part of my texture requirement is the grass. I used the airbrush system to spray the grass with G03, then splattered some more color with G99. Later I added more color with the marker itself, then added my texture by taking a wash cloth and adding some colorless blending solution (the magic juice) and dabbing it on the grass. It takes away some color so that you can see some of the original color. I love that stuff.... it's like magic! The other texture part would be the Cuttlebugged background. No bling... I did it! :)

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Just Celebrate, Year Round Fun II
Paper: Shimmery White, Close to Cocoa, Jersey Shore DS Paper, Prints Pack, Rose Red.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics
Other: Cuttlebug, Embossing Folder, Grosgrain Ribbon, Crystal Effects, White Gel Pen, Colorless Blending Solution, Dimensionals, Scor-pal, Nesties.

Click on the keyword above to see all the dirty owls!! :) It's a HOOT! *snort*

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Cat

Ha... look at this fat cat! Isn't he cute? He's new from Penny Black in a set called Bubbly. And, look, I did yellow again... I think yellow and I will become friends after all. :)

The designer paper is old stuff from Stampin'Up! I'm not sure of the name of it either... sorry. I just liked the shades of purple. The yellow paper is the lovely Prism textured card stock. The dark purple is Elegant Eggplant from Stampin'Up! Sentiments are from Lizzie Anne Designs called Sketched Sentiments. Dang, that cat just makes me smile. He's colored with my awesome Copic markers and popped up on dimensionals, on Nesties.

I am wishing you all a Happy Monday. Thanks for stopping by!

Fresh Cuts

Good Sunday morning everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm finally getting my energy back after catching a bug. Trying to get caught up on the never ending laundry piles.

Last night, I opened the new Fresh-Cut Notes. How cool is this? Available next month for only $5.00 when you purchase the Fresh Cuts stamp set. Instead of popping out the petals, I left them intact... just pulled them up a bit. Then, I took full size post it notes and stuck them under the petals as far as the post it note would go on each side. I then inked up the background stamp that comes with the Fresh Cuts set and stamped over the flower in black. Remove the post it's and then stamped a border in red. I then took the whole card and mounted it on a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of Basic Black card stock. I love how the petals stick out from the card. Oh, how I love these cards... you know me and flowers. *wink*

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Fresh Cuts
Paper: Fresh Cuts Notes, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Other: Rhinestone Brads, Flower Punch, Bold Bright Brads, Word Window Punch, Crafter's Tool Kit.
Finished Size: 4 1/4 x 4 1/4

Thanks for stopping by!

Beach Time

There is a Hanna Challenge over in the SCS Member Forums. The challenge this week is to use a brayer. I didn't. I cheated. I am planning on using one this weekend though. I caught some kind of flu bug and have been totally WIPED out. I have not been this miserable in ages. So, I spent most of the beautiful day in bed yesterday. I feel better today, but I'm still totally out of energy.

I will get my brayer out today or tomorrow, I promise. :)

This Hanna card is made with my Copic Air Brush System and compressor (my dawg). My Aunt sent me some Nesties to play with, so that's what I did. :) I stamped the images, masked them with Eclipse Masking tape, then used markers E21, then speckled the sand with marker E25 (brush tip). The Going Coastal sentiment is from the new Lizzie Anne set By The Sea. I stamped it once with Whisper White, then stamped over it again with Brilliance Graphite Black.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps:
Fun in the Sun, SPF 50 (Hanna Stamps), By The Sea (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Paper: Intense Yellow (Prism), Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Imaginisce Designer Paper.
Ink:
Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers, Colorless Blending Pen, Whisper White
Other: Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Nesties, Cuttlebug, Scor-pal.

Have a great weekend!

Count Your Blessings

I'm sorry.... I can't remember the name of this stamp or the company. When we were in Eugene for the Copic Certification, my friend Leann had this really cool stamp.. maybe Stamp Works? It was a group of flowers, all on one stamp with sentiments too. This is the right portion of that stamp. Leann was nice enough to let us stamp out some images. When I find out for sure, I'll come back and post.

I'm yellow challenged. Seriously, I hardly EVER reach for yellow. It's not that I don't like yellow, I do, but for some reason it's just not a color that calls to me often. Maybe because I always have pink on the brain... I don't know. Then, I remembered a technique that Marianne from Copic showed us . So, I reached for the one yellow Copic Marker I have and thought I'd (get my big girl panties, take a big deep breath) and try. It's hard to see in the photo, but there are streaks of that orangey yellow in the flower too. Why do I need my big girl panties? Oh, because it still makes me cringe a bit when I think back to Marianne showing us. I'm slowly getting over it, now that I've been playing with these markers more, but I'm not sure I'll ever REALLY get passed the smooshing. Okay, so this is what I did. I took the yellow marker, and on the brush tip, took the orangey color and colored directly onto the tip of the yellow! See? You are gasping huh? It's okay... I gasped too. But... I DID IT. I know Marianne is so happy with me right now. I did it M!! You can just color and twist that tip to get as much or as little of the other color on your image. Then, when you are done, just scribble on a piece of scratch paper until the dark color is gone. IT'S TOTALLY YELLOW AGAIN..... no harm to my precious, beautiful yellow Copic marker. Deep breath out.

Another cool product I've discovered lately is the Prism card stock. Prism sent everyone on Kristi's (Hanna Stamps) design team some of this WONDERFUL paper. I even loved the yellows. It's textured on one side, smooth on the other. Beautiful colors... oh, I feel rich having a stack of it. :) For this card I used Frosted Yellow, Intense Yellow and Baby Pink Medium. Two yellows..... I get bonus points today. :)

Okay, so it's a another busy day for me. Need to hit the dreaded grocery store. I really do need to invest in a cow for the back yard. Hope you all have a super duper day (the sun is out today, so I'm extra happy this am). Thanks for stopping by!

My Purple Friend

Another fun card made with the hostess set Cause For Celebration. I LOVE this butterfly! I had to have a purple version of this card for my purple friend... who makes me smile everyday with her IM's and text messages. I hope she knows how much I appreciate her friendship. :)

I stamped the butterflies onto Shimmery white card stock, then masked them with Eclipse Masking Tape, then used Copic markers V12 and V15 in the airbrush system to cover the entire piece. I can't tell you how much I love having a compressor. I can just reach down anytime, hit that button, snap in a marker and I'm good to go. It's bliss.... pure Copic bliss.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Cause for Celebration, Full of Life
Paper: Shimmery White, Basic Black, Eggplant Envy
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic V12, V15
Other: Dimensionals, Nesties, Cuttlebug, Key Tag Punch, Vintage Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit, Black Gingham Ribbon, Janome Sew Mini, Copic Airbrush System, Compressor, Scor-Pal.

Have a super day!!

In The Meadow

This is such a beautiful set from Lizzie Anne Designs. Of course, I'm a sucker for all things flower. Never can I have too many flower sets. Flowers just make me smile. Do you have a certain style of stamps you can just never have too many of?

Remember the paper towel/magic juice technique that I did to make the giraffe skin? I had a piece left over so I used it for this card. The outline is done with the colorless blender Copic marker.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: In the Meadow (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Paper: Naturals White, Shimmery White, Basic Black
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers
Other: Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, Vintage Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit, Scor-pal, Colorless Blender Solution, Embossing Tray, Paper Towel, Dimensionals.

Have a super day! Thanks for stopping by!

Cause for Celebration

Indeed! Best friends rock! Can you believe this is the first time I used this hostess set from Stampin'Up!? I love it too. The butterflies and the flowers are just too cute.

The main image is made by stamping the butterflies on Shimmery White card stock, masking them, then airbrushing over the top with Copic marker R85, then R05. I started with a bigger piece, then ran the center through my Cuttlebug with a Nestability die. The strip on the side is a left over piece stamped with the little flower from the set. The sentiment is from the set Full of Life available for a little while longer out of the Occasions Mini. I stamped it onto Shimmery, then punched it out with the Key Tag punch, then started up my compressor and used the brush tip of the same markers in the airbrush gun to "splatter" a little color all over.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Cause for Celebration, Full of Life.
Paper: Shimmery White, Basic Black, Regal Rose.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Regal Rose.
Other: Uniball White Gel Pen, Key Tag Punch, Crafter's Tool Kit, Dimensionals, Black Gingham, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, Scor-pal, Janome Sew Mini, Vintage Brads.

Hanna Stamps Challenge #16

I'm sneaking one more in today for the Hanna Challenge over in the member forums at SCS. The challenge this week was to use the colors Creamy Caramel, Ruby Red and Always Artichoke. Mission accomplished. Each week, there is a different challenge posted on Friday, so if you want to grab your Hanna's and play with us over the week, make sure you add HSC16 to the keyword section when uploading.

I used my Copic airbrush system, then ended up coloring over most of it. I'm still getting use to this markers. The thing I love most about them..... well, one thing, is that you can keep coloring right over until you find the shade you want. I think my tent was three colors before the red... lol. Riley's antlers are all fuzzified with Fun Flock. I made the sign with the My Way punch.

Hope you had a great weekend..... thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's today!

I have THE best Mom in the world. I really don't have enough words to describe how much she means to me or how much I love her. My Grandmother too... both women are the ROCKS in my life. So, today I am thankful for them... the women in my life.

Hope you get treated like the special Mom that you are !! If you need a good laugh, check out this video... it's one of my favorites!!

I'm still playing with my Copic markers and my airbrush system. I'm continually amazed at how cool these markers are. This card is truly shimmery. The base is vanilla shimmery white stamped with the flower from Lizzie Anne Designs with Brilliance Graphite Black down the side. The main image is shimmery white airbrushed with Y32 and YR23. I stamped the sentiment and then added some more flowers with creamy caramel classic ink. The popped up flowers I did on a separate piece of shimmery white. The lighter colored flowers I made by taking the R24 and directly coloring on the tip of the Y32 marker, then coloring outward from the center. It was hard to do.... but I did it! And, my marker is completely fine. AMAZING. The reason it looks much darker in the photo is because after I was done coloring and cutting out the flowers, I sprayed them with Autumn Leaves Glimmer Mist. I LOVE how they turned out. It's all matted on a Nestie.... thanks to my Aunt, who sent me some to play with. :) I think my Mom will love it. :)

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: In the Meadow, Wonderful Mother (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Paper: Vanilla and Shimmery White, Blush Red Dark Prism, Basic Black.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics
Other: Circle Punch, Glimmer Mist, Copic Air Brush System, Compressor, Crafter's Tool Kit, Grosgrain Ribbon, Nesties, Cuttlebug, Scor-Pal, Vintage Brads.

Hope your day is wonderful!! Thanks for stopping by!

By Ones & By Twos

I had to buy this set from Stampin'Up! since I am the Mom of twins. Of course mine are 11 now, but still. I like the versatility of this set... including the adoption sentiment. And, I couldn't resist that cute onesie.

I started off making a little note card with the Scallop Notes, then decided that I liked the dimension it gave the little frame, so I added it to a longer card base. Very soft and baby like. :) Oh, my babies grew up too fast.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: By Ones & By Twos
Paper: Soft Sky Designer Prints, Scallop Notes, Prism Frosted Yellow.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Soft Sky Classic Ink.
Other: Nestabilities, Copics, White Taffeta Ribbon, Word Window Punch.

Hope you have a great weekend... Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's!! :)
