Born To Be Wild

Love this new set from Lizzie Anne Designs. But, then again, I pretty much love every singe set they make. But still... it's beyond cute. This one was simple, but very fun.

My Aunt sent me some of her rectangle Nestablilities to play with... wasn't that sweet? Well... sweet, but not for my wallet, because now I want them more than ever. Thanks Roseanne! I think. LOL. I'm using up some scraps on my table, before they take over. I love double sided paper, but it's so much easier when you dislike one side. This is the other side of the Imaginise paper with the sparky flowers. You know how I am with flowers, so although I loved the stripes, it was torture to cover up the flowers. The top portion is designer paper from Stampin Up! called Summer Picnic.


The fun part of the card? Did you look close at the giraffe? Look closer... can you guess how I did it?
See the texture? Isn't it cool? Did you guess? When I took the Certification Class with Marianne (My idol...sigh), we all got a little bag with samples of their different markers. One of them was that huge wide Copic.... at first I thought I'd never use that one. LOVE that sucker. I happen to get the color E31, which is similar to Stampin'Up!'s Creamy Caramel. So, I took that wide marker and saturated a piece of card stock until it was completely covered with color. Then, I took a paper towel... you know the kind that is quilted... and doused it with some "magic juice" (otherwise known as Colorless Blending Solution... if you want to get technical), then gently pressed it on to my card stock. When I lifted it up, whala... giraffe skin! How cool is that? I then stamped my giraffe right on the giraffe textured card stock, cut him out, then stamped him again on my bashful blue piece (so that I didn't have to cut out the tail), then glued him down. I colored in the rest of the spots with my Copic Sketch marker E34. Easy Peasy.....
