Love Bugs
Wow, I've been so busy with the holidays and getting ready for CHA that I hadn't had much time to play with this cute new set called Love Bug. I grew up with my Dad calling me and my sister love bugs... so this set just makes me smile.
My friend Joni moved here from Seattle... but she is from Alabama. She has the cutest accent. I met her two years ago when our kids were taking swim lessons together... her and her family were stationed here. Her husband is in the Coast Guard. I've had some really great friends move here because their spouses were in the Coast Guard, but the sad part is that they eventually leave. Anyway, one day Joni showed me this cool mural she was off to paint on the wall in the nursery at her church. I was blown away! I cannot draw a stick person... and I told her that. Not only did she draw the whole scene, but now she was going to PAINT it on the wall? I was impressed... to say the least. So, when we were starting up OCL, I remembered that cool mural and asked Joni if she'd like to draw a couple sets for us. Joni is a Mom of four... soon to be five. She is one of those Super Mom's who does it all and always makes everyone around her smile. I am blessed to have her in my life... and hopefully she will continue to draw more sets for us, so wherever she moves, she'll HAVE to keep in touch with me! Little did she know that I have a master plan.... LOL.
I used only markers from our new Copic sets. I did use from both the Brights and the Pastel sets... oh, and I think one green from the Earthy set too. Shoot... I have them all mixed up now. I will get them back in their correct groups. Sorry.... I'm totally unorganized these days.
I added some shazam with the atyou Spica pens, then added glaze over the top with the clear and pink Sakura Glaze Pens. Man, have I told you how much I LOVE those Sakura Glaze pens... I just cannot stop myself from adding them to my images now. I need more... my clear is almost out. Oh, and I found a cool new product too. Well, new to me, but these awesome foam dots! You know my idol Jody Morrow? She sells these amazing foam sticky dot products. They are like SU!'s dimensionals but bigger. LOVE them! I will show you tomorrow. I have more stuff to show you! I had some time to stamp and oh boy does it feel GOOD! :)
Supplies:
Stamps: Love Bug (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Neenah White, Irish Eyes Bazzill Polka Dot, Basic Black, Regal Rose, Bazzill Cardstock Strips.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, R29-Lipstick Red, RV04-Shock Pink (bright set), YG67-Moss (Earthy Set), R81-Rose Pink G12-Sea Green (Pastel Set).
Other: Jody's Foam Dots, Janome Sew Mini, Blossom Brads (Imaginisce), Crafter's Tool Kit, Sakura Glaze Pens, atyou Spica Pens.
So, three of my kids went off with my parents in their bus on a hunt to find snow. I got a phone call last night, and they are having a BLAST. I have one more day of the house being quiet so I'm getting back to work. :) I'll see you tomorrow.. thanks for stopping by!

Anna Mae Happy Birthday!
Hey everyone! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Mine was great... my kids were so thrilled, so that makes it wonderful. My cousin and his family came from MN, so it was extra special this year to have them here with us. Any fun plans for the New Year?
I finally had a tiny bit of time to play over the weekend. I colored this image entirely with our Pastel Colors Copic Markers. The only other thing I used was the Sakura Glaze Pens.... with made the blue a bit darker, but it raised it up and now it looks embossed..... which I love, cuz you just HAVE to touch it. :)
The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye. I cut one of the flowers out of a scratch piece.... ya gotta use every piece right? The center of the flower are these fun sticky pearls. You get a ton and they are cheap. They are made my Kaiser. Recently, I discovered Bazzill paper and these cool strips they carry. I'm totally addicted to them. They are called Just the Edge Cardstock Strips. You get 20 pieces in each package. They are all different designs 12 inches long. They are also textured. Omgosh, I love them!! I used the brown here... and two different designs.
Supplies:
Stamps: Anna Mae
Paper: Certainly Celery, Neenah White, Bazzill Just the Edge Cardstock Strips, My Mind's Eye (Just Dreamy2), Bazzill Chocolate.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Pastel Copics.
Other: Kaiser Pearls, Dimensionals, Celery Grosgrain Ribbon (SU!), Sakura Glaze Pens, Sakura Stardust.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm working hard on getting things ready for CHA next month, but I'm going to try and be better about bloggin. I miss ya all! :)

Happy Holidays!
Hello stampers! I'm sorry I've been absent. I have deadlines to meet, and of course all the Holiday stuff everyone is doing at this time of the year. The kids are home too. How can I get anything done with the kids home? It's so fun to see them so excited for Christmas. :)
I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Merry Christmas! I want to thank you all for visiting me, for all the lovely comments, friendship, sharing of recipes, etc. You know I love ya! Hope you are all safe and warm and with your family over the Holidays. I'll be back after Christmas. :)
This card was a quickie! I grabbed one of my favorites sets from Stampin'Up! called Holiday Tag Team. Santa has a shimmery beard with the help of my Angel Wings Shimmerz. I used White Fun Flock on his Santa Suit. Sakura black glaze on his belt and boots. Grabbed for my atyou Spica Green to add some glitter to the Ho Ho Ho. :) The present is all glitterfied too.
I am very bad this year about making Christmas cards. I got very few done... only ones other people needed. One of these days, my family will give up on me and stop sending me cards! Next year, I hope to be more organized. Man, please help me get more organized. :) Can you make those kind of wishes to Santa? LOL.
Happy Holidays sweet friends! See you soon.

Would you like to help brighten someone's holidays? Please check out this blog:
Our Craft Lounge will also add one stamp set to the blog candy.
Thank you.... I'm sending prayers to little Francesca and her family.

So in Love
Hello stampers! Good Tuesday morning! I've got a quick post today, then it's off to get some work done... I'm buried and the Holidays don't make it any easier. Ya hear me? Oh yah, I KNOW you hear me. My kids were SO bummed today. No snow, no ice, no two hour delay from school. The ice is bad at night, but it clears by the morning. Towns all around are having snow days, or delays, but we live just close enough to the coast, that it skips us. :) Hope you are all staying warm.
Today, another one from our new release called So in Love. This is another Tri-fold card that I designed awhile ago. It's quick, it's easy and it's fun. :)
Supplies:
Stamps: So in Love (Our Craft Lounge).
Paper: Romance Designer Paper (American Crafts), Maraschino Red (Bazzill), Basic Black, Neenah White.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black.
Other: Slot Punch (Stampin' Up!), Square Nesties, Cuttlebug, Scor-Pal, Dimensionals, Crop-a-dile.
Okay, back to work! Hope you have a super day, and thanks for stopping by!

Running Sick SC206
Yesterday, I went over to stamp awhile with my friends Nancy Morgan and her daughter Megan. I LOVE those two... even though most of the stamping was for work, it was SO much fun. They make everything fun!
Nancy brought out the sketch this week from SCS, so I went to work. :) It was the perfect starting point I needed to get movin'.
I know the thermometer kinda looks like a spoon in the photo, but when you look close, it's got a shiny silver inside, and you can tell it's a thermometer, not a spoon. :)
Supplies:
Stamps: Running Sick (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Romantic Mauve Dotted Swiss, Fawn, and Chocolate Cream Bazzill. Neenah White, Bazzill Just the Edge Carstock Strips.
Ink: Coffee Bean Brilliance, Copic Markers
Other: American Crafts White Brads, Sakura Pens, Dimensionals, Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch (Marvy), Scor-pal.
Oh, remember the Copic Blog Candy? Our Copic Marker packs are now available at www.ourcraftlounge.com. While supplies last! It's the perfect gift, and also the perfect way to get your collection started.
Hope you have a wonderful day! The movie was AWESOME... perfect chick flick. YES, I cried.. dang, those movies ALWAYS make me cry. Today, I'm off to the grocery store to get stuff to make my potato salad. It's my family Christmas party this weekend and my cousin's LOVE my potato salad. It's the one thing I make that people request. Whooo Hooo! This week is flyin' by!
Thanks for the visit!

Gizmos and Gears
Good afternoon stampers! sorry I'm so late today with a post. Better late than never though... right? Another busy day here at the Turnbow house. :)
This cute set is by Lizzie Anne Designs called Gizmos and Gears.... I love those gears! The paper is from the Just Dreamy 2 line by My Mind's Eye. I stamped some gears in the circles with the stamp set on the designer paper.
The robot is stamped with ColorBox chalk ink... it's called Lime I think. I added my favorite Dot Stickers by Stampendous in blue to add some Shazam! Along with, of course, my Sakura glitter and Glaze pens.
I will be back later this evening to list all the supplies. I'm going to take my Grandma to see The Secret Life of Bees movie. My sweet Aunt sent money and asked me to take her on her behalf. What a thoughtful thing to do huh? Now I get to go too! My Grandma loved the book, then sent it to my Aunt. My friend Keri sent me the book when I had back surgery, but I haven't read it yet! Dang it.. now I need to read it. Anyway, I'll be back later.
Supplies:
Stamps: Gizmos and Gears (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Paper: Just Dreamy2 (My Mind's Eye), Neenah White, Taken with Teal.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Colorbox Chalk Lime, Copic Markers.
Other: 5/8 inch Circle Punch, 3/4 inch Circle Punch, Earth Element Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit, Dimensionals, Dot Stampendous Stickers, Sakura Pens, Scor-Pal.
Thanks for stopping by!

Watercoloring for Cheaters Holiday Lineup
Good morning stampers! Hope you had a great weekend! We got our tree up and decorated. This year, we broke down and got a fake tree... artificial tree. LOL. It's really pretty. You have to look REALLY close to see if it's real or not. The kids always LOVE decorating the tree and the house. I cannot believe Christmas is just around the corner. Are you ready for the holiday?
This is another card I put together this weekend with the Holiday Line Up set from Stampin'Up! I used the same method to color... I call it watercoloring for cheaters. It's really the only thing I used my SU! markers for anymore, but I love the results! :)
Again, I added all the Shazam with my atyou Spica Pens and my Sakura Glaze pens... man, I LOVE those pens!
Supplies:
Stamps: Holiday Lineup, Heard from the Heart (Stampin'Up!)
Paper: Watercoloring Paper, Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Regal Rose (Stampin'Up!).
Ink: Black Stazon, SU! Markers
Other: Aquapainter, Ribbon (SU!), Button Bouquet, Cuttlebug, Snow Dots Embossing Folder, Sakura Glaze Pens, Atyou Spica Pens, Scor-pal.
Have a super week everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Bevie Pearl!!
Today is my friend Bev's birthday. I met her online at SCS years ago... she came all the way from Chicago to visit me... TWICE and she's coming back this summer again. My kids love her as much as I do. Her phone messages make me smile. I love her with all my heart.... she is THE best friend. So, today I wish my sweet friend a very happy birthday. If you'd like to make her day, head over to her blog and wish her a happy birthday. :)
I combined both Lil' Peanut and Dr. Peanut to make this card. A little masking with my favorite Eclipse tape and sweet Lil' Peanut is ready to send birthday wishes.
I added all some Shazam with Bingz, Sakura Glaze Pens, and atyou Spica pens.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lil' Peanut, Dr. Peanut (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Neenah White, Just Dreamy2 (My Mind's Eye).
Ink: Brilliance Graphite, Copic Markers.
Other: Janome Sew Mini, Wintergreen Bingz (the balloons), atyou Spica Pens, Sakura Glaze Pens, Crafter's Tool Kit, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals, Ric Rack, Scor-Pal.
Wow.... you guys! Thanks for all the comments about the Copic Markers. You are all SO sweet. A lot of you said you needed help with them. I know not everyone can take Marianne's class. But, I do have to say, that if you like my coloring, ANYONE can do it. I am not a great colorer. I think that is why I LOVE them so much... they are SO easy. I know I don't use them to half their potential. So, I know if I can do it, you can too!
A couple important things. To have great success with them, you really need good paper and good ink. As much as I love Whisper White for stamping, it does not work well with Copic Markers. If you just want to color, it works, but to get the blending and fun effects, you really need a cardstock that you can move and blend with. My favorite for this is Neenah Solor White. I've also heard that Papertrey white works well, although I've never tried it.
The second thing is good ink that won't smear. Some inks you need to let dry or heat set, but my absolute favorite is the Ranger Distress Soot Black. You can stamp it and then color immediately... no waiting, no smearing. I love the Brilliance too, but I need to think ahead with that one so that it has some dry time.
Here are some tips that help me. Remember to work in small circles and saturate the paper... you should see it bleed through to the back! Don't be afraid. You can blend and blend and blend and your paper will not pile. Start with a light color then add a darker shade, then go back with the lighter color and blend with it. Sometimes, I do not use a second darker color but just go back with the same color marker to make areas darker, then use the Blender Pen to take away more color. I use the chisel end of the Sketch markers for the grass and sky etc. Little circles. :) Again, I'm SO far from an expert on these, but they are truly worth every penny.
That's the other thing. I know they are expensive, but if you look at it over the long run, they are not really expensive. Consider that they are re-fillable (but they last forever... so no need to buy refills with your markers). The tips on both ends are replaceable, but again, no need to buy any... they last forever. WAY more durable than any marker I've ever had. Not one of my tips have frayed or been damaged in any way. Trust me, if you start using them, you will never put them down. They are the easiest, most fun, most amazing markers ever! So, LOL... maybe that is your warning... do not pick them up!! If you pick them up, YOU WILL WANT THEM.
Okay, so I'll be back in just a few minutes to pick a winner! Again, thank you for all the comments, recipes, and input. YOU ALL ROCK! :)

Jody Morrow Box Tutorial
I LOVE Jody Morrow! If you haven't been over to her blog to visit, you are missing out... she's always coming up with AWESOME ideas. This box is totally her design. Take a look here. I love it SO much... I ended up tweakin it just a tad. For me, it's easier to make this smaller version with my Scor-pal... and you know me, easy gets me every time. The last time I made her box (I've made a LOT), I cut the paper the wrong size and had some left over on one side, so I made a flap. Good excuse to use my favorite little magnets for a closure. :)
I'm going to show you how I made this one today. :)
Supplies:
Stamps: Anna Mae, Lola Love (Our Craft Lounge).
Paper: Grape Bazzill, Apple Green Bazzill, Plum Delight Bazzill, Neenah White.
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Copic Markers, YG11, BV01, BV15, BV17, E00, Y21.
Other: Rectangle Nesties, Cuttlebug, Shimmerz Royal Purple, Blingz Wintergreen, Sakura Glaze pen (clear), Grosgrain Ribbon (Stampin'Up!), Scallop Edge Punch (Stampin'Up!), Basic Grey Magnetic Snap Closures, Scor-Pal, Fiskers Cutter.
Cut your card stock 6x12. You can get two boxes from one 12x12 sheet of card stock.
Score on the long side at
4.5
6.5
and 11 inches.
Score on short side at:
1.5 and 4.5
You can click on any of the photos to see them larger.
Line up your box short side up, with the score line in the cutting blade lane.
cut down to the first horizontal score line.
Lift the blade, line up the arrows on the side with the next horizontal score line.
Continue to cut on the rest of the score line.
Flip and do the same on the other side.
Now flip your box so that the long side is up. Line up the first center score line with the two inch mark on your cutter.
Make sure before you start cutting that your card stock is butted up against the bottom and that your score line is lined up on the two inch line.
Cut down to the first score/cut line. Stop, lift the blade, line up the arrows on your blade with the next score/cut line. Continue to cut.
Flip and do the same for the other side.
Your finished cut and scored box will look like this. :)
Scallop the ends if you want, or leave them plain. Fold your flaps and apply adhesive to form the bottom of your box.
Stamp and color your image for the front of your box. Adhere it to the front (the side with no extra flap).
Now for the fun flap. Get one negative and one positive snap magnet.
Place the magnets on the front top portion of your box. One on the outside and one on the inside. Reposition them so that when the flap from the back side is closed, it covers the magnet on the outside.
Carefully lay the front of your box down, pull off the magnet from the inside of your box, peel off the adhesive, and let it stick to the same spot you removed it from.
Pull off the magnet from the outside/front of your box, close the flap over the front, then take off the backing and stick the magnet to the front of the flap.
Make your flap.
This one measures 1.25 x 3 (apple green) after the scallops. The purple strip measures 1 x 3 inches (layered on the apple green). If you are going to add things that need to line up with your main image, like with Anna Mae here, do not add those until the very last. If you do not want the ribbon to show on the back side when the flap is opened, add it before adhering to your flap.
Adhere your flap right over the magnet on the front flap.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the little snap sound those magnets make when the top closes.... it feels like magic! :)
If you love this little box as much as I do, hop on over to Jody's blog and give her a big ole thank you for sharing with us! :)
Make sure you stop by and see me tomorrow! Marianne (from Copic Makers) is heading down to So. CA to meet up with the Our Craft Lounge girls for fun classes and make and takes. See their schedule in this post. I can't go this time.... so I'm giving away something BRAND NEW that we will have in our store soon. You could win! I think you'll love it... it starts with a C. Oh yah, giving away blog candy makes me feel better about being at home while they are having fun. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
I don't have any copics, I can't find them in the UK. Love the way the colouring looks with them. I love SU Markers and the inkpads for colouring,
Good Luck Luv jen x
