Roast beef in the crock pot is the best!! But you have to rub on onion soup and brown it just a couple minutes before putting in the crock pot. Really got to try it amazing what that onion soup does to the flavor of that roast. Yummy!!! have a blessed day~ hugs Renee

Would love a chance at some Copics! That would probably start another "gotta buy" list.

Put a round steak in your crockpot with a can of cream of mushroom soup, a package of brown gravy mix and two cups of water. I put the meat in last after I stir up the liquids. Cook all day for fall apart meat and gravy that goes great with mashed potatoes and corn.

I make pulled pork BBQ in the crockpot. Slice up onions and put in bottom of crockpot. Salt and pepper a pork roast put on top of the onions. Pour BBQ sauce on top. Slow cook for 8 hours. Shred the pork. Serve as sandwiches with the cooked onions and extra sauce.

I love to make a Sunday roast in the crockpot. You can even cook it from frozen. Just put your roast in the crockpot top with some sliced red onions and a family size cream of mushroom soup. If it is frozen start cooking it at 10 the night before on low and let it cook until 5 or if it is thawed you can start it at 8 in the morning and cook until 5. It is so tender and just falls apart.

I like to Crockpot Cook, but I don't really have any specific recipes except...put a little of this with that and what do you get recipes....Mostly, I make chili or soup in my crock pot....if you make the real deal homemade chili with dried beans...you have to prep the beans by boiling them ahead of time...which I do in a mixture of beef boullion and chili powder..oh and garlic and salt.... bring to boil and simmer for about 1-1/2 hours...IF you don't cook the beans...when you throw them in your crockpot with tomatoes, the acid in the tomatoes will not let the beans soften....I know this from experience!!!! Anyhow, after you prep your beans....put in crockpot rest of ingredients: fried ground beef...diced onion, canned tomatoes, and whatever secret ingredient you want...I like to add brown sugar...put your beans with the broth in...turn on low and at the end of the day....yum..

This is not necessarily a quick meal to put in the crockpot...but...it's worth the morning prep to have it nice and savory by the end of the day!

8 cups diced potatoes
3 cans chicken broth
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup diced celery
1 cup onions
salt and peper to taste

1 8 oz philadelphia cheam cheese

Mix first 7 ingredients in a large pot (at least 6 quarts)
Cover and bring to a full boil, reduce heat, remove lid and stir with a wooden spoon and watch carefully until vegetables are tender--turn off heat and while it is still very hot--not boiling. add 8 oz block of cream cheese cut up in small pieces, stir until it is melted. enjoy!!

Crockpot Pork Chops are so easy! Mix flour, sage, salt and pepper - coat pork chops and brown in oil. Put in crockpot one can cream of chicken soup- put chops on top. Top with onions or mushrooms or both and let it cook several hours. The porkchops are so tender and the soup makes a nice gravy to have over rice!! Yummy!

HI GIRL, the easiest recipe I have by far for crockpot is barbecued porkchops. I get the THICKEST (bone in or boneless), and stack them on top of each other, covering each one with barbecue sauce so that there is BBQ inbetween and all around, then put it on low for 6-10 hours depending on how hot your crockpot cooks! Mine seems to cook really HOT on even the low setting, so mine are done in 6 hours!

Thanks for the chance to win some goodies!

Italian Stuffed Acorn Squash-Crock Pot Recipe

4¼ hours | 15 min prep
SERVES 2-4

1 large acorn squash, halved and seeded
olive oil
1 cup water
1/2 cup wild rice
1/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds or pine nuts (I have used sunflower seeds too)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup vegetable broth
1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese or feta cheese
Cut squash in half and scoop out seeds.
Brush squash halves with olive oil and place in slow cooker (slice off bottoms to level, if necessary).
Pour 1 cup water into the cooker, around (not into) squash.
In a small bowl, combine wild rice blend, pumpkin seeds or pine nuts, minced garlic, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and spices; stir until well-mixed.
Stuff rice mixture into each squash half.
Slowly pour about 1/2 cup vegetable broth into each squash cavity until full (don't let stuffing overflow).
Pour any remaining broth around squash.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Just prior to serving, sprinkle with crumbled cheese.
Enjoy!

I'm a crafte, not a cooker! I'm blessed with a DH who loves to cook, so I let him. I have played with the crock pot before but best leave it to professionals. :o) I do love Copics and have been pining for Mr. Peanut since he was released. Thanks for the great candy opportunity!

Stampin'Kat said...

Wow, what fantastic blog candy ! i have been drooling over the renditions i have seen of Peanut. My favorite recipe for the crock pot is to throw a lb of stew meat, 1 can of tomato sauce, about 4 carrots slice thick , 2 sweet onions (chopped large), 4 large celery sticks (sliced), 2 large potatos (cut into chunks) and half a dozen mushrooms (quartered) into pot cover with water and cook on low while you craft. Eat when desired.

One of my favorite crock pot recipes is called Pizza Chicken. Place chicken strips/breasts (either!) in crock pot. Season with garlic powder. Cover with sliced green peppers and chopped onion. Pour favorite spaghetti sauce over and let cook on low all day. Serve over cooked egg noodles and top with sprinkled shredded cheese...yummm-o! : )

Here'a really simple crockpot recipe:

Beef roast
Jar of whole peperoncini over top, juice and all.
Cook all day.

Remove whole peppers, shred meat into juice.

Serve on hoagies with provolone cheese and slice peperoncini rings.

Yum!

Wow! Great recipes. I don't cook very much in my crock pot - mostly because I forget to use it. The main thing I do cook in it is a roast - either pork or beef. I usually add a couple of cans of cream of chicken soup (I don't like mushrooms) and a package of Lipton Onion Soup Mix. Stir it up and stick the roast in. Makes great gravy. Thanks for the awesome blog candy.

Wow, copics and elephants! what more could a girl want? And I don't use a crockpot - some of the recipes look pretty good, I may have to get one. Oh wait! I have used one for the velveeta cheese, rotel tomatoes, and sausage dip - good stuff with corn chips!

doesn't need a crockpot, but all ya need is some rotisserie chicken-pulled off the bone, a can of black beans, a can of Rotel brand tomatoes (whichever flavah is your fave), and a can of corn or black olives. Then make up a pot of brown rice (reg or the 10 min kind) and mix all the above and throw in the chicken. This is better the second day, but great w/tortilla chips, on heated tortillas and if you want, you can jazz it up w/some shredded cheese or sour cream. buon appetit!

Oh how sweet is this. I am in on this one, don't hop on many of these but when they have Copics I do! Here is a recipe from the Dinner Tonight Blog.

Southwest Meatloaf Burgers

Ingredients

Serves 4

* 1 1/4 pounds ground beef chuck
* 1/4 cup plain dried breadcrumbs
* 1 cup (about 1 bunch) scallions, minced
* 4 cloves garlic, minced
* 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons tomato-based chili sauce
* 1 large egg, lightly beaten
* 1 tablespoon chili powder
* 2 teaspoons ground cumin
* Coarse salt and ground pepper
* Warmed tortillas, for serving (optional)
* Pickled jalapeno slices, for garnish (optional)

Directions

1. In a large bowl, combine beef, breadcrumbs, scallions, garlic, 1/2 cup chili sauce, egg, chili powder, cumin, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Using your hands, mix just until combined; do not overmix.
2. Divide beef into 4 equal portions. Form each portion into a 4-inch-diameter patty, about 1 1/2 inches thick. Place on a plate; cover tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until ready to use, up to overnight.
3. Preheat oven to 425 degrees with rack in center. Transfer patties to a rimmed baking sheet. Bake until browned, about 15 minutes.
4. Lightly brush tops and sides of patties with remaining 3 tablespoons chili sauce. Return to oven; cook until an instant-read thermometer inserted into center registers 160 degrees. 5 to 10 minutes more. Serve immediately, with tortillas, jalapenos, and radishes, if desired.

I make BBQ Beef sandwiches. At night I put into the bottom of the crock pot a light coating of dried chopped onion and 3 cloves of minced garlic then I put the beef roast fat side down. When I wake up in the am I drain off the fat/water (keep a little in the crock) and I flip the roast. When I come home for lunch I use 2 forks and pull apart the meat and add one bottle of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. I serve this on buns with broccoli and a salad as my side dish. enjoy

Wow - copic markers I've really been wanting to try these some more.
As far as recipes I'm not a very good cook. I just tried this one from Real Simple and like it because it's quick (I'm more of a OMG what's for dinner I'm starving!)

Angel Hair with Spicy Shrimp
15 min serves 4

¾ lb angel hair pasta or spaghetti
1 T olive oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 lb frozen peeled and deveined medium shrimp, thawed
¾ c dry white wine
¼ t crushed red pepper
kosher salt
2 T butter

Cook pasta according to directions. Drain and return to pot.
Meanwhile, heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, cook, stirring for 1 minute (do not let it brown). Add the shrimp, wine, rep pepper and ½ teaspoon salt. Simmer until the shrimp are opaque, 2-3 minutes. Stir in the butter until melted. Toss the pasta with the shrimp mixture.

Good LUCK to everyone!

Love your blog! Here's a recipe for Baked Stew. It's for roasting, but I put it in a crockpot, and so did the person I received it from. It's delicious - and hope you like it.

Baked Stew - in roaster, or crockpot

3 pounds stew beef
2 cups diced onions
2 cups quartered potatoes
2 cups carrots (large chunks)
2 cups celery (large sections)
1 6-oz can sliced mushrooms
2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
5 tablespoon tapioca
1 tsp sugar
3 cup V-8 + 3/4 cup red wine (I use all V-8 juice, with no wine)

Place all in order given in roaster with tight-fitting lid (I use crockpot). This means the beef in placed in crockpot first, next is onions, potatoes, carrots, celery, musrooms, etc). If using roaster, bake at 250 degrees for 5 hours. (In crockpot, I cook all night). No browning necessary.

2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. ground cumin
1 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. ground oregano
1 can (4 or 7 oz) chopped green chiles (size optional)

shredded lettuce

My favorite thing to make in the crockpot is BBQ beef for sandwiches. I brown a large roast in a skillet then add one or two very large onion(s) sliced and fry until transparent. Put roast and onions in the crockpot with a little beef broth and let cook all day. About an hour before dinner, shred the beef (slice on cutting board then pull apart with 2 forks); add as much BBQ sauce as you like (I prefer "Sweet Baby Rays" from Costco). Leave in crockpot on high until heated or time for dinner. Serve on hamburger buns. So tender and good. Divide leftovers up in freezer bags for later meals.

I would love to win this blog candy. Thanks for giving us a chance to win it.

I love your blog and your work - it is so amazing.
I like to make scalloped potatoes. Slice your potatoes, butter the casserole dish. Place a layer of potatoes in adding salt and pepper cheese slices, a bit of flour and some milk. Then add another layer omitting the cheese on the top. Cook for a good 1 1/2 hours at 350depending on size of dish. May need longer. Just before removing from oven add the top cheese just to melt.
Thanks for the chance at the copics/stamp set.

Love your site, you are the best. My fave cheese dip is 1/2 stick Velvetta, 1 can rotel and a little cooked hamburger and cook down in a crock pot. Chips for dipping.

Hi Cami,
I'm crockpot-challenged, but reading all these recipes is very inspiring! Thanks for the opportunity for copics and stamps!

Here is one of our family favorites. You need to try it.

Chicken Divan by Wendy Peatross

2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup
3/4 cup mayonnaise
2/3 cup milk
2 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons concentrated lemon juice
2 large bunches of broccoli, cooked
3 pounds cooked, chicken, shredded or chunked
2 cups crumbled Ritz crackers

Preheat the oven to 350’. In a large bowl combine the soup, mayonnaise, milk, 2 ½ cups cheese, and lemon juice. Mix well, but do not beat. Layer a 9 x 13 baking dish with the broccoli, then the chicken. Spread the sauce mixture over the chicken. Add the cracker crumbs. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with ½ cup grated cheese. Return to the oven only long enough for the cheese to melt. Serve hot.

I LOVE your blog candy! I have been wanting copics for so long, but I haven't sprung for them yet. Thanks :-)

O, O, O, pick me! I haven't even seen the Copics in person. I usually make beef stew in the crockpot, I see so many have already done that. I will list what I tend to use.

I usually cut up a 2 pound Chuck Roast (much more tender and flavorful than the 'stew meat' tends to be
I salt and pepper it really well.
Add it to the pot, top it with Onion/Mushroom soup packet
Cut up potatoes, carrots, onion and celery and put on top.
1 bay leaf
1 bottle of beer (whatever I have)
1 cup of beef stock or water

Cook on low for maybe 6 hours or so. You could totally substitute wine for the beer, but I like the beer.

I usually do it on the stove now, instead of crock, coating the beef with flour, and browning in small batches, for added flavor. Allowing the beef to really caramelize before moving it in the pan. Either way is good.

Thanks for the chance to win.

I don't have a crock pot recipe for you as I am more of a baker than a "cooker"....still trying to find my cooking skills. I love your blog, though, and wanted to say thank you for all of the inspiration you give us.

My favorite crock pot recipe lately is pulled pork. The original recipe is more involved, including onion, honey, etc. but I found that if you just take a 2-3 lb. pork loin roast, and about 3/4 to 1 full bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet Vidalia Onion BBQ Sauce, and put both into a greased crock pot for 8 hours on low, it's the same taste. When the cooking is done, shred the meat (right in the pot) with two forks and stir to get the sauce all over it. Serve on hamburger buns. YUMMMMM! We have it every other week or so! Love you stamps by the way! I just posted my first Bubs the Beaver card the other day. ;)

Awesome blog candy! Love the stamp set and I've never used Copics...what a fabulous opportunity!

Here's an awesome pork roast, that I make every Christmas in the crock pot (really, I should make it more...easy and amazingly delicious!!) The gravy is heaven!

Cranberry Pork Roast

1 Boneless rolled pork loin, roast
1 can 16-oz. jellied cranberry sauce with berries**
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Cranberry juice (or orange juice) **
1 teaspoon Dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon Ground cloves

1/4 Cup Cornstarch
1/4 Cup Cold water
Salt

Place pork roast in slow cooker. In a medium bowl, mash cranberry sauce; stir in sugar, cranberry juice, mustard, and cloves. Pour over roast. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or until meat is tender. Remove roast and keep warm. Skim fat from juices; measure 2 cups; add water if necessary, and pour into a saucepan. Bring to a boil over med-high heat.
Combine the cornstarch and cold water until smooth; stir into gravy. Cook and stir until thickened. Season with salt. Serve with sliced pork.

**When I make this, I use regular jellied cranberry sauce (no whole berries) and I use orange juice. I find it makes for a nice balance with the cranberry sauce. I also turn the roast a few times while it's cooking, since I tend to buy roasts that are really too large..not necessary if you buy a normal size roast.;-)

Hmm. i dont do a lot in the crock pot - perhaps chili now and then.
I have an aversion to anything that calls for a can of any type of creamed soup. Enjoyed reading what others have done tho.

Wow my first thought was, I should use my crockpot more, but need recipes. Well looking over everyones comments I need to borrow some of these recipes. Looks like some good ones.
I love that stamp set, the elephant is so darn cute! I do not own any copics but wish I did.

I make a yummy roast in the crock pot...

Place roast in CP, cover with some onion soup mix, and then pour a can of mushroom soup, mushrooms & beef broth over everything. Cook on low for 7ish hours (dep. on size of the roast). You can throw potatoes & carrots in the CP with the roast about half way through.

Thanks for the blog candy!!

I want to have lunch with her and have her give me copics!!! How cool is that!?! I think an hour away would be a bit much to "bump" into her though. Anyway...crockpot recipe, eh? I like to throw whole (washed and wrapped in tin foil) and then you have super easy baked potatoes and you can set up the delicious toppings! Mmmm. I'm hungry now.
